At Okinii Japanese Restaurant & Impressive Noodle, the name truly says it all. From their seriously impressive noodles to their beautifully executed Japanese dishes, everything hits just right. Step inside and you’re welcomed by a cozy atmosphere filled with warm holiday smiles, plus intimate booths that create a romantic private setting perfect for a date night. The menu goes deep featuring authentic Chinese rice bowls alongside a wide range of Japanese favorites from appetizers, soups, and salads to rolls and fresh sushi. Every dish is thoughtfully presented and full of flavor, made even better with a pour of sake or an ice cold beer. If you’re craving a solid Japanese fix, Okinii in Massapequa is definitely worth the stop.

I came here with my 4 year old son because of a post from @kidsdayoutli and was genuinely excited to take him to a new sushi restaurant plus take advantage of the promos they had mentioned. I CANNOT explain enough how NON-KID FRIENDLY this place is. There are no kids cups, no kids utensils, no kids menu, no kids activity, nothing…. And to be honest, that’s fine. My son and I are excellent at going out together just the two of us. With that being said with the exception of the two special sushi rolls, the rest of the experience was utterly atrocious.
1) I got there at 4:25pm on a Saturday. There was one other table seated. I did not leave until 6:00pm. Again, it was just me and my son. I had to flag them to take my order after sitting for 20 minutes, I had to flag them for a fork for my son 3 times which resulted in me having to get up leaving my son in the booth alone, we both were never brought water, my soup didn’t come until I reminded them, everything was just slow. They were training a few people and I give them grace for that but this is horrendous.
2) The chicken fried rice was average at best.
3) The two special rolls I got were very good and I will say the presentation was beautiful but they took forever to come out.
4) They have a “screenshot challenge” on their instagram where you can win a free drink. Which is great. Except you have to write a Google review in order to get the free drink and they won’t take it off your check until you prove to them you wrote it. Well, I’m sitting there with my son who is exhausted at this point, Google is simply not loading because there isn’t reception and I’m showing the server this, he tells me to go to the front – with my 4 year old hanging on me all my stuff in the booth… still won’t load, they can’t let me join their WiFi, and instead of just giving me the $6 drink they ACTUALLY charged my card all while essentially hovering over me.
I will also mention that the faucet in the ladies room simply popped right off when I went to wash my hands.
Well, here’s the Google review they wanted. I know their heart is in a good place so I really didn’t want to have to write this but they hit my final straw when after delay after delay after delay and me saying it was OK they couldn’t just give me a drink due to no fault of my own. Everything had to be said.
If you were getting the sushi takeout I’m sure you would be happy enough.

Okinii is a great choice if you want a single-person meal (sushi and sashimi) I’m so OBSESSED with their variety & creative rolls, the freshness and quality of the fish absolutely is a highlight‼️I’m literally enjoying the unique & flavorful Okinii Roll I can’t find everywhere else.
A rich & hearty dish “Braised Beef Noodles” in Okinii is my favorite comfort food with the warm broth, deep flavor, slow braised tender beef it’s rich without being overly heavy
Okinii truly makes Tonkotsu Ramen Special, slowly cooked pork bones transforms the broth into a milky, opaque, velvety‑rich soup full of deep savory flavor. Despite richness, the flavor can be surprisingly refined and well rounded.

The food is great, friendly staff, a little slow serving the food, its gotten better, but well worth the wait, plenty of parking.
Today, May 7th, we returned to this awesome Japanese corner of heaven, I believe that service was actually the quickest I’ve ever received here. The attention was great and friendly. It’s always friendly, not always quick, the food was excellent, it feels like every time I return, they improve, and I am very happy to have returned for today’s meal. Also happy that they’re very reasonable priced.

Tasty chicken katsu lunch with salad. Chicken is tasty and tender. Comes with rice and pineapple. Pineapple is a nice little touch for dessert. Will visit this restaurant again to try some other items.

The wife was at the front desk at first , but now they are teaching their children how to run the business and the daughter at the front desk has no sense of customer service , SORRY ! The sushi takes like 20 mins to be ready , if y’all want good sushi go to teriyaki express !
