Grater offers their superb grilled cheese with a variety of meats. On this occasion we tried the Philly steak and Nashville chicken, along with parmesan fried. Beef was done well with peppers and the Nashville chicken on the spicy side. Definitely a great place for lunch and even dinner.

We had been to another restaurant in this plaza which was overpriced and bougie, but we thought we’d try it anyway. The menu looked good. We used the kiosk, and I was glad we did because all of the options to customize your sandwich cost extra. I ordered a chicken pesto grilled cheese on sourdough with parmesan crust. My husband got some kind of smash burger grilled cheese also with a couple of options and a $4 fry. We sit down and food does come fairly quickly. Portion sizes were a bit small including the fries. Yummy, yummy, yummy! I ate a delicious grilled cheese with lobster. The staff was amazing and very friendly. I am a pescatarian, I only eat seafood. They had selections for vegans and accommodations for all of your health & wellness needs. Even the customers inside the store were friendly to us. I’ve been coming to the Grater Grilled Cheese in Irvine for about two years now (probably close to 20 visits!), and it never disappoints. The grilled cheese is always perfectly crispy and gooey, and the carne asada fries are seriously addictive. I can’t go without ordering them every time.
