This is only my 2nd time here, and I can’t say enough as to how yummy their food is. It is tasty and very fresh. The place is clean and cozy. The people are also very pleasant, but did I tell you how good their food is? You must get the Cobb salad.

Wow! How did I miss this place?! Awesome tacos and excellent service…I read some reviews, but not sure how it’s possible, totally contradicted my experience today. Regardless, my tacos today were unbelievable! Loved the combination of flavors, with a squeeze of lime… Wow! I had the traditional taco with a mango taco. Returned and got a friend traditional and chicken tacos. Her experience was similar to mine. THANK YOU! My new “go to” for tacos!!!

Tamiami Tacos: A Love Story Gone Wrong

Let’s start with the guac and chips. Look, it’s fine. But instead of glorious avocado chunks, I got what looked like someone scraped green baby food into a bowl and said, “voilà.”

Real guac has texture, has pride, has personality. Paste-guac just screams: “We didn’t have enough avocados, so we ran it through a blender and prayed.” Nothing kills the vibe like eating something that could’ve doubled as mortar on a Home Depot job site.

The steak puffy taco? Not bad. Puffy. Beefy. Respectable. It didn’t knock my socks off, but it didn’t try to murder me either. In this circus of tacos, the steak was the only one that showed up to work on time, kept its head down, and didn’t embarrass the family.

But the mango pork taco? Oh my sweet Jesus. That thing tasted like someone tried to make barbecue inside a tire fire. Mango should be fresh, fruity, a little sweet — not like it just finished chain-smoking Newports behind the dumpster at 7-Eleven. It was pork, mango, and regret wrapped in a taco shell.

And then, the Thai shrimp taco. Oh lord. Fresh shrimp? Sure. But they left the damn tails on. Who in their right mind thinks, “You know what would elevate this taco? Making the customer dig shrimp tails out with their fingers like a raccoon in the trash”? I’m not trying to perform a crustacean autopsy in the middle of dinner. And soggy? This wasn’t tempura—this was sadness in a tortilla. The only crunch was my dignity snapping in half after one bite.

Final Thoughts:
Tamiami Tacos is like a Tinder date that looks great in pictures, but in person tells you they “dabble in crypto” and asks if you want to split the bill. The guac could’ve been sexy, but it showed up in sweatpants. The steak was passable. The mango pork was a crime against fruit. And the shrimp taco? A sloppy, tail-flapping disaster.

My husband stumbled across this taco spot for lunch. I guess they were having bad day because their AC was broken but this did not deter us from eating here. The food was delicious. We ordered the nacho plate and what stuck out the most was that the cheese, beans and all the toppings were dispersed even under the chips where other restaurants just drizzle the toppings on top and you are left with plain chips at the bottom. I order the mango pulled pork wrap which was great in size and very packed. The sweetness of mango mixed with the pulled pork was the perfect consistency. We will be back when in the area again! Thank you

Wonderful fast food restaurant. We were having our car serviced at Gettel and we were hungry and walked over for some lunch. Their food is the best! Plus large burritos packed with lots of meat. Sometimes you find the best things in a small strip mall

I regret going here! For what you get, just go elsewhere! The food is mediocre if that! $20 for 3 tacos when they advertise 3 tacos for 11$
No one explained pricing or add one…I don’t know what I paid for.
I feel sorry for their employees. The prices are so high it makes it hard to give the employees a decent tip.
I work in the service industry and am embarrassed at this place.
You can get better food anywhere else on 41 for that price!
I paid 17.70 for 3 tacos and a drink and plus tip it was about $22

After a few hours just down the road at the Ringling, it was time to grab a bite to eat. Tamiami Taco was an excellent choice. A clean, bright, airy shop welcomed use in this small shopping plaza. Friendly lady behind the the counter took our order, brought it out to our table, and followed up to check if we needed anything. My wife had three tacos: mango pork, buffalo shrimp, and campeche. She said all were excellent and had a good amount of meat. I opted for the Cali burrito, which was satisfying and filling. We would not hesitate to visit here again!

We stumbled upon this hidden treasure last year visiting from NYC and we are back for round two a year ago to the day! Don’t be fooled by the stigma of gas station food, these Taco’s are terrific!! Better than all the other places from Siesta key and St. Armand circle to anything around this area. Fish taco Friday was delicious, consisting of two overly stuffed tacos filled with crispy savory fish fillets, topped with homemade mango chutney and fresh shredded cabbage. The pork tacos are to die for as well, with a choice of chipotle ranch or avocado lime sauce to top it off. You can literally hit the jackpot with this creative special, 1 taco, 1 sm fountain soda, 1 bag of chips and a lottery ticket for the Florida Lottery!! All for 7 bucks!! And don’t forget to fill your car up and not just your belly. It’s hard to believe such great food is in a gas station. Stop by and say hi to Robert the owner tell him the New York couple sent ya!

Food is absolutely atrocious. Poor girl at the counter getting hollered at by the guy in the kitchen was wild. Ordered a taco salad, and 2 carne asada taco plates. Literally nothing good or fresh. Wasted $60 here on “food” no one was willing to eat and ended up cooking ANYWAYS. 0/5 recommend.
Idk HOW this place has such a high rating bc it was super disappointing, over priced by far, and quite disgusting.
(See photo) Idk what *this* is, but it’s not tacos.
Edit to reply to owner: No. The man was yelling at her because she forgot to bag the taco salad and we were standing there, patiently waiting and he angrily asked what we are waiting for. She was on the phone, trying to get the drink machine fixed, that wasn’t working right, because he told her to do so. It was out of line to yell at her, much less in front of people. We weren’t upset, so why was he? Poor lady did not deserve that.
Then to have the tacos coming out like that, is wild. People like me? That come and spend $20 per person in your establishment for $10 worth of poorly prepared food?
You should be ashamed for even writing that response and not figuring out where your quality control has gone as far as the food goes.
