Every month, I drive 75 minutes to come here for tea with my sister, and it is worth every second of the drive. Milla puts great thought into every aspect of each item on her amazing tea service. She is truly an artist. I’ve been to many tea houses over the years, and this one is the best value and experience I’ve found. She has the tastiest fresh scones, the best food in general, and the most creative chef. Service is always great. November’s tea service was amazing as usual.

My boyfriend and I booked a reservation for the October Afternoon Tea and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. Let me start by saying the food is incredible! I am a picky eater and was scared about some of the offerings, but even I (with my unrefined pallet) loved everything on the tiers. It’s hard to choose a favorite bite whenever everything was just so unique and well executed. However, I would say the Gouda & Watercress sandwich or the Sweet Potato and Sage Scone were two of the best bites. You can tell that the owner knows a lot about food preparation and choosing flavors/textures that go well together. My boyfriend loved his Afternoon Darjeeling tea and I enjoyed the almond sugar cookie tea. I appreciated that our waitress kept our water glasses filled and offered us a second pot of tea with a new flavor if we wanted (we tried 4 teas in total). My only qualm about this experience was the venue. I hope that one day the Flour Box can expand to their own separate location. I feel as though the strip mall venue undersells the value of the product being sold. The inside was a little barren and mismatched decor wise, which doesn’t ruin the experience but is definitely noticeable if you’re someone who frequents afternoon tea locations. I think the price is more than fair for the service and quality received and I can’t wait to make the journey back to try another tea service. (Speaking of which, I liked that I was able to make a reservation online without calling and that they were able to fit me in same weekend).
TLDR: good place, you should come
Also, ignore the fact that we ate one of the sandwiches before remembering to take a picture of the tier.

A hidden gem in Kernersville!! Sandwiches, soup and quiche were menu choices. I had the chicken salad and it was OK, but the broccoli salad was very delicious and flavorful! It was quiet as the the restaurant was closing early because it was the owner’s birthday. We learned from our amazing server that was a reservations are recommended! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the prices were very reasonable for a Sunday brunch. My girlfriend and I were quite impressed and look forward to going back! My girlfriend ordered the Almond sugar cookie hot tea and it was phenomenal! I had a mimosa which was also very delightful. If you’re in the area and you have some time definitely call ahead just to make sure they’re not closing early and go check this place out, it was really relaxing fun Sunday afternoon reconnection with my girlfriend!

We really enjoyed this place. Small women owned business, serving family recipes. These bites were just amazing. I could eat them all day. Well definitely go again!

I brought my daughter, the Bride to Be to celebrate her engagement and our English family tradition of mother & daughter tea time for wedding planning. The setting was perfect to gift her a family heirloom tea set. The atmosphere was very pleasant with English charm. The service was very attentive and sweet. We thoroughly enjoy every bite of the holiday menu on the tea service! We are both excited for a return visit, perhaps just for a casual tea time. Absolutely, enjoy our teas, the meal and our experience at The Flour Box Tearoom cafe. Thank you so much!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this place. I’m not an avid tea drinker, but the variety offered here was perfect and having to opportunity to try several flavors really allowed you to explore the tea. I visited with a group to celebrate a friend birthday and we had the prefix March menu. I can’t even describe how great the scone was – utter perfection. Really a great place to experience a variety of tea and some good company in a beautiful atmosphere.

The cafe is to the left of and behind the stairs leading from the main street (we first tried the doors directly at the bottom of the stairs). The outside of the cafe is a charming place to stage a few photos.
The lattes were good (not too weak), and they had a variety of cakes (including gluten free). My friend got the peach chocolate cake, which had an interesting flavor that paired well with the coffee. The berry tart cake was a bit lighter and good as well.
We visited at 5pm (an hour before closing), and there were just a few others there.
I definitely recommend Flour Box as a coffee break between visiting shops on the main street.

I can’t wait to come back! Everything was perfect. Received some of the best – THE best – service I’ve ever received from Stephanie who was knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive. The tea was served to us properly brewed and hot. We had such a good time and never felt rushed even though we just purchased a pot of tea to share and no food. We left over 20 minutes past their closing time and were totally unaware! In addition to the beauty of the grounds and the decor, everything was impeccably clean: everyone was wearing a mask properly and tables were distanced and sanitized after use. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and safe experience in Winston-Salem.
