The inside of the restaurant is large and open. It looks inviting. There is also seating outside near some water fountains. The food is very pricey for the quality in my opinion.
The pho comes served in cardboard takeout containers with plastic cutlery, even if you’re dining in, which makes the experience feel cheap considering the prices. I was hoping to sit down with a hearty bowl of pho loaded with a nice assortment of meats like brisket, tendon, steak, tripe, and meatballs, similar to most traditional spots in town. But here, for $17 you only get one cut of meat, and each extra type is $3 more. So a normal mixed-meat bowl would cost about $23, roughly 40 percent more than other excellent pho restaurants nearby that serve larger portions with all the meats for $15–16.
I decided to try the oxtail pho for $22 since it sounded unique, but after taxes and fees it came out to $25. The oxtail pieces were flavorful but hard to eat because they didn’t have any knives available, and it’s tough to get meat off the bone using just chopsticks or a plastic fork.
The broth was decent but noticeably less rich and aromatic compared to some of the better pho spots around Seattle. Overall, it just didn’t feel worth the price. Eating out of a disposable cardboard bowl with plastic utensils while paying premium restaurant prices felt off. If this were my first time trying pho, I might think it was fine, but after having much better elsewhere, Vinason just doesn’t stack up for the value.
The seating is wide open. You order from a screen. There is a wonderful variety of Pho. They also have Tater Tots and Chicken Wings. The Drink menu is Off Tha Hook. Big selections and varieties of Beer, Margaritas, Hard Alcohol, Khombuchas, Sodas,Wings.
The customer service is Above and Beyond Excellent.
The ambiance is 5☆.
Tried the prepaid card for beers and the selection is various from ciders to IPAs to sours. I loved the IPA variation.
I ended up ordering oxtail pho. The broth was on point. Warm pho broth with the flavor of beef and Vietnamese spices. The pho broth was on point and I could drink just that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It came with a huge oxtail. The oxtail was flavorful, beefy, and delicious. For my personal preference is there could be less fat on the oxtail but I ate some and ate around the rest of it. The fat does contribute to the depth of the broth though. It came with a side of bean spouts, lime, and basil. I always put my basil in the pho but it gets all wilted and Calvin suggested eating the basil on the side and it took the pho to another level. We also requested for pickled garlic which added the perfect garlicky, tang to the whole dish and helped cut the fat of the oxtail. Definitely will be back to try the bun bo hue!
*Pho and Sandwiche are delicious.
