We didn’t make a reservation due to making a decision to go out for New Year’s Eve last minute. Staff was so friendly and apologetic for not having a table but said we could set and be served at the bar.

It was a wonderful experience. Husband and I enjoyed the football game between Duke and Arizona State. It made it even better that Duke won!

I can’t express how friendly, professional and efficient they were during service. The establishment was busy but we never packed for service.

The live music was exceptional and a welcomed surprise.

Our meal was exquisite. Everything thing was prepared beautifully and arrived hot. Dessert was to die for.

If you have an opportunity to dine at this establishment you won’t be disappointed.

Love this hidden gem in the cute downtown of Oxford, NC! The dry aged rib eye with lobster tail was divine and the fish and grits were fantastic as were the deviled eggs with the crawfish— excellent cocktails made at their in-house distillery and first class wine list! Nice service and atmosphere too!

This place is the best! Have had dinner here several times. The scallops and risotto are amazing and so is the steak. Great appetizers as well, love the spicy crab dip and deviled eggs.

They have some great precanned drinks you can also buy from the bar that are very tasty!

Enjoyed a phenomenal brunch today at Verdigris. This restaurant has such elegant decor and ambience. I was greeted warmly and promptly seated. I enjoyed the seasonal salad with mixed greens, cranberries, feta cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds, and a house made apple cinnamon vinaigrette. The vinaigrette accentuated the lovely dichotomy between the robust savoriness of the feta cheese against the sweet and tart edge of the cranberries. I also added a side of savory charred Brussels sprouts with a fine drizzle of honey and ham. My wife chose the bananas foster French toast. Candied pecans, maple syrup, and whipped cream coated the expertly crafted French toast and allowed for a sweet but filling treat for lunch. I always enjoy this restaurant more each time I visit. My compliments to the Chef and staff of this fine establishment. The food, the service, and atmosphere were all I could hope for.

Found this gem just off I-85 while traveling – easy parking and absolutely worth the short detour.
My wife’s pork chop and my scallops were beautifully presented with flavors that exceeded expectations. The cabbage side dish reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking, and incredibly, the chef came out to tell us it was his grandmother’s recipe!
The wait staff was exceptionally friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for our date night. Southern cuisine done right in every way.
If you’re passing through or looking for an impressive dining experience, don’t miss this place. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in the area. Whatever you do, DON’T skip dessert – your diet can wait until tomorrow!

It is always a treat and a delight to come back to this establishment. The service is fantastic, the drinks are fabulous (That Black Pepper Mule mmmm), and the food never misses. With all my visits there we tried the crab dip for the first time tonight and it was heavenly. Can’t wait to come back, luckily I will be back next Thursday. I will always recommend this place!

Incredible! Absolutely amazing!
Sometimes you just don’t know what you’re missing out on when you make the mistake of always going back to the same old places. I/we truly enjoyed one of the most incredibly yummy dinning experiences ever tonight at Verdigris.
Years ago I met a sous chef at a popular, overhyped restaurant in Raleigh. Some time later she told me she was leaving for a little place in Oxford, NC. Of course I wished her well and privately kinda thought she was making a mistake and would be back. Kept meaning to check the new place out but literal years passed and I didn’t go.
WELL I ATE THERE TONIGHT!!
I’m not a southerner so I don’t have a really cool, funny, or off the wall exclamation to describe how truly impressed I am by what I ate tonight but I wish I did! I joined the Clean Plate Club, both of us did. We ate every bite of every item we ordered. I don’t think I’ve ever done that. I secretly wanted more!
I want to commend the staff on how smoothly dinner service ran in the dining room we were in. The music wasn’t loud, neither were the guests. The servers were observant but never overbearing. Bryanna took care of us. Her service was perfect. She was knowledgeable, engaging, fun, and still professional. All of the staff were well put together and seemingly worked well together.
A special shout out to Kim, I’m sorry we didn’t get to see you but I know how busy you all were in the kitchen. You were smart enough to leave an overpriced, barely mediocre restaurant in Raleigh and become a part of Verdigris! Kudos to you and the entire kitchen staff. It took us a while to show up this first time but I promise we’ll be back.

It’s about a 40 minute ride from N Raleigh but nice to get out of the city and 1000% worth the drive.
Highest recommendation I can give.

The review is for upstairs seating – I’d probably add one star to each sitting downstairs. Food was good, but we were a great distance (upstairs) from the kitchen and for the first hour of dinner we were the only people seated upstairs. Our waitress tried but had limited experience. Don’t all them to seat you upstairs. The Ribeye was good, but it was $82 (listed as MP) and I expected more.

AMAZING food and service !!! Everyone was wonderful and lovely , food was better than expected , we live in New York but travel every year for camping and this will be a restaurant we stop at every time , shrimp and grits amazing , everything was beyond greatness update !! Came back and food was even better then the first time UPDATE CAME BACK AGAIN THIS SUMMER and everything was amazing , sad you guys are close on Monday and Tuesday ! Fish and grits amazing !! Everything is perfect and service was amazing our waiter was nice friendly and patience and the manager as well
