The food was overdone and not edible. We ordered the specials for Valentines day. The server Anthony was great. The only enjoyable aspects of the meal were the appetizer of cherry BBQ wings and the Apple Stilton salad. Not sure if I would go back.

Bartender/Server was okay. We kind of felt like we weren’t a priority at all. Had to ask for water refills and other things. Most attentive when came time for the bill. I have been a server that is too late to get a nice tip. Sorry, understand that it was a very snowy day and were closing early, but when you do pay attention to your customers they can’t get out on time either.

We had reservations for 6:45 on Christmas Eve. We were seated at 6:30 and told the kitchen was catching up. The restaurant was maybe 3/4 full. There was a large party in the back which I later learned was a 24 top. I’m sure they had reservations too so the restaurant should have been prepared. I received my salad 45 minutes later and that was the first time my server said anything about a delay. All we got was “sorry about the delay” as he left. 15 minutes later he he picked up my salad plate and said our food should be in now as he walked away. 15 minutes later our entrees arrived. I ordered the walleye, mashed potatoes and vegetables. I received a piece of fish that was about the size of a large perch fillet, 4ounces tops. The butter that was part of the ”Almondine” topping wasn’t even melted…. My mashed potatoes came with no gravy and they definitely needed it. The asparagus was good. When the server came back 15 minutes later to ask how everything was (way too late) we complained about the tiny portion. I order walleye a lot and this was by far the smallest portion ever. The server told me, “That’s how they cut it”. I’m a fisherman and I’m sorry… Wrong answer. Worst dining experience in a very long time…

I stayed here for a week at a conference, and I have no complaints. I was kind of terrified booking it after reading the reviews about cleanliness etc but my room was clean when I came in. I stayed on the 4th floor of the west wing, which is not pet friendly. So if you are not bringing a pet I would recommend getting a room where pets aren’t aloud if you’re concerned about it (I had friends who stayed on the 2nd floor, they didn’t have any complaints).
The food in the restaurant was good but a little basic– but the location is phenomenal and walking distance from downtown where there are countless bars, restaurants, dessert shops etc if you get tired of the food.
They were also very accommodating when the govt shut down happened and it threw a wrench in a lot of people’s plans (given a lot of us were federal employees) I really appreciated that 🙂

The food was good, just not great. I would say a good option for larger groups and if you can not get into some of the other restaurants in the downtown area. They really need to do an update to improve the feel and ambience of the space to compete as more newer hotels with restaurants come to the area.

I went to Minerva’s at the Park Place Hotel recently, and honestly, I had a nice time. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service was great—everyone was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience feel good.
The food itself wasn’t bad, but I did feel like it could’ve used a little more seasoning to really make it pop. Nothing was wrong with it, just a little on the plain side for my taste.
Overall though, between the vibe and the service, I’d go back. It felt like a good spot to enjoy a meal and relax.
