The food is decent but they never have patties. NEVER! Morning, noon, or night. Sometimes you just want a patty on the go for a quick bite. I’ve gone there multiple times even when I don’t want anything and still they never have patties. What’s up with that? How can a Caribbean restaurant not have the most basic item available ever? Foolishness. Again the food is decent but I can’t speak for the patties because they never have them.

The staff is always nice but I wish the food was better , I’ve been to multiple locations within years and I know at this location they can do better . I wish the curry goat was more tender and the oxtails had better flavor . It’s not horrible but it needs improvement

I got the Akee& saltfish for breakfast and a Jamaican cola. The food tasted good but since the menu prices are so out of date I can’t shake the thought of getting ripped off.
The dish came out to 17$ (versus $12 on the menu) and I paid 22$ in total which meant the drink was $5 (vs $3).
To the management, please update your menu prices, what’s the point of having an electronic menu if the prices aren’t up to date and honored?

I just ordered a Large Oxtails, Rice & Peas w/ Cabbage. My 1st time eating here. Food was absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to try the Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat. Thanks so much for the great food. Awesome staff! 5 Stars!

I’ve been to other Tropical Jerk locations in the past and was excited for this one. The stew chicken and salmon are a hit or miss. I’ve had both about 3 times and 2 out of the 3 they were a little dry. Rice and peas not cooked all the way. Plantains have been dry and not sweet or fully ripe. Patties have been good but the cocoa bread is a hit or miss as well. The one I had this week was hard on the top. They were kind enough to give me another one. Oxtail so far so good. Jerk wings are probably my favorite from this location. Overall quick and easy service. Sometimes the lady in front is stush or will say one thing about the menu and when you ask for something she just said was available they don’t have it. I’d come back again for convenience just have to be prepared to possibly be disappointed. Parking is what it is being on Prospect Avenue. You may find parking in the front or in the laundromat parking lot.

I was not going to write this review but after to visit leave me no choice. Prior to today visit I got a large red peas soup with beef but the beef need to be cut up in smaller pieces. The size of the beef is so big it can handle fit in the cup. Today I got a large goat head soup and it’s the same scenario, it’s like they cut the head off and drop the whole head in the pot….Management if you want to keep getting my Business please converse with your staff and get these meat cut up smaller for the soups. Thank you

I’ve been going to tropical Jerk for years at all the other locations. I have my favorite Tropical Jerk but was happy when this one opened near to me. However, the food quality is not the same as other locations. Ordered Jerk Chicken here twice and it was dry and burnt. Didn’t like the barbie fry sauce. Think they should streamline food to maintain standards across all restaurants. Since they are new hopefully they will improve. Will wait to visit again.
