Great food, great vibes — will definitely be back
I went to Jerk City Grille and ordered the jerk chicken dinner with jollof rice and mac & cheese. First off, the jollof rice was amazing — super moist, full of flavor, and honestly my favorite part of the meal. Loved it.
The jerk chicken leg was BIG, smoky, and packed with flavor. The sauce was really good too. The wing was awesome, strong jerk flavor and cooked perfectly. I didn’t even realize the meal came with fries, so that was a nice bonus. I got the six-piece, and the ranch was really good — tasted like it might be house-made.
The mac and cheese looked good, but it wasn’t my favorite. It had a slightly bluish aftertaste that threw me off.
I also tried the Rasta pasta. Huge portion for sure. It had more of an Alfredo-style taste, and while I wasn’t a huge fan of the pasta itself, the sausage was delicious. It didn’t taste store-bought at all — nice smoky flavor — and honestly, the sausage saved the dish. The bread was Texas toast, which was solid.
For drinks, I got the Jamaican fruit punch (50% juice), and it was really good. Also tried the Jamaican cream soda — sweet, but way better than most American cream sodas.
The service was awesome. A big kid helped me out, and since it was my first time having Jamaican food, he really took his time explaining the menu and recommending food and drinks. Super helpful. The vibes were good too.
Overall, great experience. I’ll definitely be back to try more items on the menu

I have been here twice the hostess in the front is so sweet and accommodating. The first time I came I ordered 2 Jerk Chicken dinners with macoroni and fried rice as the side. I did not know that the fried rice comes as its own meal. And when I came back to the front to explain I wanted only a side they credited me back the money for the 3 order and gave me the food anyway! They were amazing the food is seasoned so well and delicious. They have a forever customs love them great job y’all.

First time there. The young lady working the counter was very nice and helpful. We had the Jerk Chicken egg rolls, oxtails with cabbage greens, turnip greens and cornbread. Also had the stuffed turkey leg. Everything was good and meats tender. If we were not leaving Jackson we would have eaten there again. See you the next time we visit

Jerk Chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and the jerk marinade was well balanced. Big portion size makes it a great value for the price.

It’s been awhile since I’ve done any reviews so I decided to do one while I was out for lunch. Stopped in at Jerk City Grille near the Northpark Mall in Ridgeland and all I can say is wow. The service was great. Order was taken promptly and the cost for the food was spot on. Not too long of a wait for the food and as you can see from the picture, there wasn’t a shortage on portions. The jerk seasoning on the chicken had the perfect spice level. It was “hot” enough to feel but subtle enough not to hurt. The jollof rice had an amazing flavor. I will be getting that again. The cabbage was favorable and cooked very well. The three plantains were the perfect amount and cooked very well with a lot of flavor. If you’re in the area and want great food with amazing flavors, stop here. I will be back.

The food was fresh and tasted great. The only reason I didn’t score perfect is because I have to get used to those types of seasonings a bit. But I’m definitely going to try out more!

Jerk City Grille is amazing! The fried rice is packed with flavor, the chicken egg rolls are perfectly crispy, and the Caribbean wings are unbelievably delicious. Every bite is seasoned just right and leaves you wanting more. If you want food that’s fresh, flavorful, and worth every penny, Jerk City Grille is the place to be!

I have been eyeing this place for a while and wanted to give it a try. We are big lovers of Caribbean food. Upon walking in we were greeted and the person upfront seemed over it. We asked a few questions the responses were very sarcastic. The place has good music and a nice vibe. We ended up ordering Jerk chicken, Curry chicken, Beef Patty, Jerk egg rolls and Cocoa Bread.
The jerk chicken had no real flavor, no spice, and no gravy. The Curry Chicken was better but still lacked flavor, the beef patty was a curry patty (our order was wrong) it was pretty good but the outside was soft. Typically, the outside of a meat patty is orange tinted and flakey – here not the case. The jerk egg rolls had absolutely no flavor. I had high expectations, the dipping sauce was creamy and sour but it did was not ideal for dipping. I do not think any of the meats were marinated. The pieces of meat were tender but not seasoned, the rice and beans had some seasoning, cabbage needed a touch of spice. The cocoa bread was good.
This restaurant has potential – hope to see positive changes in the future.

Don’t sleep on this place. The FLAVORS y’all- everything is spiced perfectly. It’s flavorful and spiced but not too spicy. The kitchen is happy and they seem to do a ton of to go orders. We had the jerk chicken egg rolls(huge portion and could totally be a meal by themselves), I had the jerk chicken protein bowl with jollof rice and he had the jerk chicken Philly sandwich. The sauce- in my head it’s like a homemade queso comeback. No idea what it is but I want it on EVERYTHING!
