ABOUT US Koi Sushi is located in 136 Main Street, Sayville NY 11782. We opened in August 2016. We specialized in Pan-Asian Fusion cuisine. The uniqueness of our cuisine starts with our all hand-made sauces, which are prepared on site with only the freshest produce and highest quality ingredients. My go to sushi spot. We went in the other night to sit down and eat and they were kind enough to bring us a free roll to try. We love coming here for date nights and for takeout most Fridays when we are craving sushi. Staff is extremely nice and very patient when we are ordering our food as well and everything is always delicious. I highly recommend

Our food was expertly prepared, delicious and came to the table promptly. I was a little disappointed when the “tuna” combo I ordered arrived as a *salmon* combo. I brought it to our server’s attention, but she insisted that I had ordered salmon [which I didn’t and never have]. She very begrudgingly offered to exchange it for tuna, but I recognize how much work goes into preparing and presenting it, so I accepted it. I can’t recall the last time I sent food back because I just can’t stand waste and I don’t ever want to be demanding_customer_guy. Unfortunately, they made no effort to “meet me halfway” or offer a comp of any sort, which I found disappointing.
Atmosphere: The interior seems to have improved since I was there last which was a welcome change. Fun fact: This is the former location of “Saville Modern Diner” where a live hand grenade was found under the floorboards by a contractor fixing a gas leak in 2012. Luckily, the closest you’ll probably come to that these days is if you order the “Bomb Lobster Roll” on the “KOI Special Rolls” menu LOL.

Nice food! Had the gyoza and it was good even for a picky eater like me! Then got two rolls, Panhandle and Crazy Tuna, and it was fresh, plus the server was nice to me when ordering it and she recommended me it. Always depend on the servers if you do not know what to eat. They did remove hibachi, but I think the sushi won me over easily.

I don’t really care what the food tastes like. The obnoxious staff at the front desk to the left of the bar ruined any and every experience for me just by picking up my order. They had zero manners, and had horrible customer service. Their rude remarks were not appreciated either. The disgusting taste that the staff in this place left in my mouth is good enough of a reason for me to never return.

Food was overpriced and mediocre at best. I usually don’t leave reviews and if those were the only problems I wouldn’t have. However towards the end of my meal I found a staple in my roll. Absolutely absurd.

I was in this area and I read very bad reviews about this restaurant.I can’t say that I was surprised by this place.and yes it was edible, but I won’t say that it’s of very good quality.i ordered tuna bowl,and added red onion,which was cut into such large pieces that it was impossible to eat it all.All in all, I would not say that I would return to this place or recommend it to anyone.
