This gas station Chicken shack has quite the reputation for good fried chicken. It did not disappoint. I had the jambalaya for a side ithat was surprisingly good. Throw out any notions of gas station garbage on rollers or microwaved junk. This is actually quite good. Not really anywhere to sit, although they have a long table with chairs that are not in use. I met the cook not only was he very helpful, it was quite clear he really enjoyed making good food. Man, I hate leaving a 3 star review.
But when you say you’re open till 6 and the phone rings and rings with no voicemail it’s a bit frustrating.
Then when you call back 3 times because this was your plan for dinner and are expecting guests and have no back up plan because ya know, you’re supposed to be open till 6…
I love the food and am so surprised that it’s one of the only decent places to get dinner.
But if you’re open till 6, please answer the phone.

Looking for some chicken that was close and quick this came up in a search. Not the usual spot you would look for some excellent chicken but OMG out of this world slap your momma for seconds chicken it was. Perfect breading, perfect cook, moist, fresh and fantastic. Walked in with a large order not knowing we could order ahead and they made it happen in a finger snaps time. We will definitely be back and share with everyone we know this hidden gem. Thanks for the great dinner at a moments notice.
