As soon as I walked in, I was in awe of how stunning this place is. The vibe is modern, elegant, and bougie — it honestly feels like a restaurant straight out of a big city. I loved being able to see into the kitchen, and the staff even brought out purse hooks for our bags — such a thoughtful touch!
The food and drinks were top tier. My favorite drink was the Chinese Awakening — perfectly balanced and full of flavor. For appetizers, I absolutely loved the XO wontons, and my husband couldn’t stop raving about the ribeye wontons. The crab rangoon was also amazing — you could actually taste the real crab meat, not the imitation stuff!
For our entrees, I had the Kung Pao shrimp, which was flavorful and beautifully presented. The people I was dining with ordered the beef chow fun, and they loved it just as much.
Between the atmosphere, the service, and the quality of the food exceeded every expectation. Everything about this restaurant is top-notch. Highly recommend to anyone visiting or living in the Charleston area — I can’t wait to go back!

We had an excellent meal of many small plates, a few larger entrees, some cocktails and desert. Everything was incredible. The flavors of every single dish were so intense (a compliment) and complex & unique. Everyone was thoroughly impressed. The Nutella mousse for dessert really stood out. Can’t wait to come back

I had an exceptional dining experience here, this place instantly got added to the top of my must return list! The dumplings were hands down some of the best I’ve ever tasted—perfectly crafted with a delightful blend of flavors. The chicken was phenomenal, showcasing the chef’s talent and attention to detail. To top it off, the drink selection complemented the meal beautifully and the service was very wonderful. If you’re looking for an unforgettable Cantonese feast, this is a must try.

We had an incredible experience at XO. The staff was friendly from the start. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff brought over complimentary drinks. The food was delicious. We got several items and everything was great. The atmosphere is super cool. Definitely would recommend XO for a date night or group dinner.

One of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time! Came as a group of five. Jordan took really great care of us and told us about his favorites on the menu. Ended up getting the burrata with the chinese donut and seabass off his recommendations, and they were really good choices. Highlights were the Seabass and duck, but every dish was fantastic!

If you’re only into the vibes of a place and not the actual food this was a good restaurant. Service was very attentive, and the atmosphere is dark and moody and very photogenic. However, for a place that wants to bring good Chinese food to Charleston they certainly leave a lot to be desired.
It was all edible, it all tasted fine, but it was absolutely not Chinese enough to hype themselves up as such. If your preferred Chinese is Panda Express, this is an elevated version of that. But if you’re actually looking for traditional flavors and techniques then this place leaves a lot on the table.

The service was impeccable! I love seeing how everyone works as a team for their customers. The build your own baos were delicious and even better as a dessert. The crab Rangoon were good. The cocktails were delicious. I love the little accessory to hang your bag from the table.

Interesting Chinese fare in a well appointed space with friendly attentive service. Nearly everything we ordered involved something fried (or flash fried) which probably tracks authentic Chinese (I don’t know) but would be nice to have 1-2 healthier options even if not quite as true to the cuisine. Cocktails were creative.

We are always blown away with XO Brasserie every time we come in the door. The staff are all warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The ambiance is inviting, refined, and sophisticated. Cocktails are unique and scrumptious. As someone who grew up in the restaurant industry, it is very difficult for me to find Asian cuisine that is true and delicious. XO Brasserie reminds me a lot of parent’s restaurant and that is the highest praise I could ever give. The usuals we have to get: crab rangoons, potstickers, steak chow fun, fried rice, chilean sea bass, five spice honey roast duck, and the green beans!
Normally we come in with my in-laws but recently took our close friends who are know to be pickier eaters and they loved every bit!! Highly recommend stepping into XO for some tasty Cantonese style foods. You won’t regret it!!

One of the best Chinese food in the South hands down. The vegetable dumpling was freshly hand made and pan fried to a perfect texture. Personally, I think a touch of shiitake mushrooms in the filling could make it even better. Other than that, liked everything else we ordered, the wings, Chilean bass and steak chow fun were all on point. Our server was friendly and prompt with service.
