We absolutely love visiting Lighthouse Cafe it’s become a regular favourite for us whenever we’re in McCrae. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the food is consistently fresh and beautifully presented.
My go to order is the honey cashew duck such a delicious combination of flavours and textures, and always so satisfying. It’s the dish I look forward to every time. Since the change of ownership, I’ve noticed there seems to be a little less honey sauce than before, but it’s still a standout meal that keeps me coming back.
Overall, it’s still one of my favourite spots, and I’ll happily keep ordering the honey cashew every visit!

Unfortunately I was taken to this restaurant for a treat from close friends. This place has gone down hill since our last visit a few months ago. The food wasn’t up to our usual expectations. The curries looked and tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Service was slow and they staff seemed un organised. Atmosphere would have been fine if the food and staff didn’t let it down .

Good choice! We ordered a variety of meals with prawns, fish, chicken and pork.
Everything was perfect and fresh, everyone was totally satisfied.

We booked a Valentine’s Day meal. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is Thai, and everything was delicious. I was very impressed.

4.8. It’s a great Thai place. As one member of our party said halfway through our meal, “I think this is better than any Thai meal I’ve had up in Melbourne”. It’s lovely food here with lovely flavours. We had the prawn toast, satay, duck salad, BBQ prawns and the yellow curry with beef plus rice and roti on our first visit. On our second we had a prawn massaman and a range of other dishes. All the dishes were excellent and were notably very well made with fresh high quality ingredients. The massaman is the best flavored one I’ve ever had. It was utterly delicious. And, the coconut rice was exceptional as well. The service was really great here too. Brisk, efficient and unobtrusive but with lots of cheery smiles and comments. This is superior local Thai. We’ll return again and again for sure.
