This is hands down the best Mexican in Decatur. Cancun is the only other true competition, but the flavor and quality of the food at Tacos and Tequila is unmistakeable. Every other spot (El Rodeo, Smackin Tacos, etc) is hospital food by comparison.

This is my new favorite place in Decatur, Illinois to eat! My sister and I both had the shrimp fajitas and there was A LOT of shrimp on both of our plates…so much that we brought half of it home and ate it the next night! Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant!

I am from Northern, Illinois. There are a lot of mexican restaurants there as the population of latinos is much higher. Moving to central Illinois, ive been trying to find a good one in my area. This one is very good. Has more options of meat than El Rodeo which is in the same area. This little tucked-in-the-corner gem is worth it. They have big sizes in margaritas i saw lots of people had ordered. I did not, but i will on my next visit. I had the Burrito Loco, husband had the Burrito grande, kids had tacos of carnitas and chicken and my oldest had a torta. Very good and the service was amazing. Chips are warm with salsa while you wait. Just come right in and have a seat where you would like. Jarritos, cidral, and sangria at this location. I’ll definitely be coming back soon.

Been a few times now, this time I got the chicken fajita quesadilla with rice and cheese sauce for the chips and it was all delicious. I really like their tortilla chips, red salsa and queso..it’s very good. Will definitely go back, and already told some friends and they went last week and were fans too. Nice little spot.

These tacos were amazing!!!! My favorite was the shrimp, but the flavors of each were incredible! We also enjoyed the fresh guacamole and cheese dip. The burrito grande lived up to its name and was also delicious. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much for the excellent service and incredible meals- we wish you all the best!

wonderful food. i had a grande burrito and a pomegranate margarita. it was phenomenal. the staff is very friendly and very attentive. im glad came through town and found this place. i will definitely be returning next time im in Decatur.

Well after a year I am back in town for work decided to give this place a try again to night and was not disappointed the food was great even in a To go box.
This is a great place to eat and if you like a adult beverage they have it. I had the chili Colorado it’s fantastic nice and spicy the food is fresh Watch the plate when they tell you it is hot believe them again great meal
