A+. This place is the real deal. I had the Candied Bacon Jalapeño Smashburger with breaded Onion Rings (not those cheap flat ones). My Wife had the two meat plate with Brisket which she said is some of the best brisket she has had in Texas. She also had the pork ribs, cream of corn and Mac & cheese.

I would highly recommend going there. The people that worked the behind the counter were helpful being it was our first time.

My boyfriend found this great gem after leaving Six Flags. Wow just what we needed after a long day in the sun. Cute spot that is easy to get to and once you walk in, you smell the aromas, peruse the menu, and know this will be good! We ordered the two meat plate(brisket, rib, Mac&cheese, and creamed corn) and Jalapeño, bacon jam smash burger. All of the above pleased our appetite! Wish we had room for more because the rib was the best EVER, fell off the bone tender and flavor, remarkable. Yes please and will do so again on our next visit.

In from out of town and tried this place for the first time. Hands down, nothing short of Amazing BBQ! Everything we had was off the charts great, from the fries & sweet tea to brisket and sausage. Super impressed with the sandwich buns also! My only regret is that I didn’t get to try more items , but I will get there since this is our new go-to BBQ spot when in town.

Garcia Barbecue, a relatively new addition to the San Antonio dining scene, has quickly gained a reputation since moving from a food truck to its brick-and-mortar location this past summer. Featured in Texas Monthly, I decided to check it out for myself, and here’s my experience.

Located in a small shopping center near the Medical Center, Garcia Barbecue is tucked into the end of the strip with a convenient drive-thru. We arrived around noon on a Saturday and found the spot bustling with activity, although there were still plenty of tables available. The ordering process was smooth with a digital menu that made everything easy to read. After a short wait, we were able to place our order. They do have a hand written chalkboard sign that they put out front if they run out of barbecue. So, beware, don’t go too late.

I opted for a two-meat plate with pork ribs and chicken, alongside sides of potato salad and green beans. My friend went for the sliced turkey and brisket, also with the potato salad and green beans. The food was brought to our table shortly after we sat down, and the presentation was appealing. The green beans, in particular, stood out – they were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning and a generous mix of tomatoes, bacon, and onions. Both my friend and I agreed that these were some of the best green beans we’ve had in a while.

The chicken was flavorful, with a well-balanced rub that added depth without overpowering the meat. The pork ribs were also seasoned well, and the rub gave them a nice balance of smoky and savory flavors. My friend was particularly fond of the brisket, though she felt the turkey was just okay. The meal was also served with potato bread. My friend and I both ordered the potatoes salad. The potato salad had good consistency. My friend thought it was to vinegary, but I liked the flavor and tartness. I personally think that a jalapeño bread would pair well with the barbecue, maybe add some butter that could be added to the bread.

The restaurant itself is cozy, with about 15 tables and a casual, no-frills atmosphere. Even though it was a busy lunchtime, the service was quick and efficient, and our food arrived hot.

After our meal, we walked over to the nearby Italian restaurant also mentioned in the Texas Monthly article.

Overall, I highly recommend Garcia Barbecue. The food is flavorful, well-seasoned, and served hot. Whether you’re a fan of classic barbecue or just looking for a new spot in the Medical Center area, Garcia Barbecue is definitely worth a visit.

We heard about this place on Texas Eats. Yesterday, we were a block away so decided to try it. It did NOT disappoint in any way! From the cleanliness to the service to the options, to the flavor! I had the single smash with fries and hubby had two meat (turkey, lean brisket) with potato salad and corn. Everything came out hot and delicious!!! Meat was so tender and seasoned perfectly!! Fries were excellent! The owner stopped by our table to ensure we were satisfied. Please give them a try!

I’m gonna have to say this place has flavor. The brisket is good, the turkey is good, the Mac n cheese was special and the potato salad didn’t disappoint. We had nothing left to eat everything was gone. People kept coming in.

We decided to pop in and try this little spot and found it hard to get through the parking lot. There is back parking with entryway so we ended up there. The workers were kind and the menu was small but enticing.
We decided on a brisket sandwich, and two meat plate. The fries were good, the mac and cheese was different yet yummy and the creamed corn was delicious! The brisket was so tender and cut thick, however the pulled pork was slightly more dry than I had hoped for. They do not have fountain drinks, only bottled coke, Topi Chico and Fanta flavors. They make their sweet tea in house and it was sooo good! Seems like it’s made with brown sugar. Overall, I would love to come back and try other items. Seating was limited with a small mixture of high tops and low tops.

I’m not a Texas bbq fan. I’m always disappointed with smoked bbq. I prefer charcoal. With that being said this was by far the some of the best smoked meat I’ve eaten. The corn omg the corn. Again the corn but all my meat was delicious and I think the rice was jalapeño flavored it was great.

The low key strip center location is hiding a fantastic barbecue joint. I had the three meat combo plate with two sides, bread, pickles and onions. I chose brisket, ribs and sausage. The star the meat show was definitely the ribs. Wonderful flavor seasoning with no fat. I’m fairly picky about ribs these were just absolutely outstanding. The sides were also an unexpected pleasure. A generous helping of macaroni and cheese that was smooth and creamy. I also had the Charo beans which had a smokey flavor with little bits of sausage. It had a hint of a kick. Highly recommended!

So I have been wanting to try this spot for a while now and I promise you that they didn’t disappoint me at all. The. Brisket nachos are the bomb so of the best I have had. I also really licked the pulled pork taco it just needed to have just a little bit of barbecue sauce drizzled but that didn’t take away from how good it was, the corn was good and I tried the pulled pork sandwich which was also delicious. I definitely recommend this spot so if you in the mood for some good food stop by you won’t be disappointed.
