Nothing fancy on the menu, but reliably good for the price. I’d like to give the food 4.5 stars. Service was excellent. Quiet on a Sunday. I bet the lunch buffet is good.

We have had lunch several times at this location and have really enjoyed everything that we have tried on the menu. Today we ordered the El Campo Shrimp Nachos. The shrimp were so big and seasoned perfect!!!!! If you’re looking for big portions you will get your money’s worth at this restaurant. Our waiter today was Santiago and he was spot on with service!!!!! Outstanding Job to all!!!! Looking forward to our next lunch already and we just left

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The communication is terrible. I asked and to try the menudo and was brought queso. When the server came he stated they don’t even have menudo. The carne guisada has an overpowering taste of spices. I asked for asada and they boxed it to go(Mind you my husband had already eaten and I was still waiting to eat. The taco was soooooo bland and cold probably because they couldn’t figure out where it went. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a taco in a to go box. The tea was decent and the queso edible. If you have taste buds and genuinely like Mexican food I wouldn’t recommend this place.**3 tacos 2 teas and $7.50 queso. Worst way to waste money.

The food was okay…could have been more flavorful. The service was okay. The atmosphere wa okay, but there are no windows, so it’s somewhat dark inside. The Carne Guisada was not what I expected and was not to my liking. The meat appeared to be chopped up beef fajitas in a very peppery brown gravy(reminded me of a pepper steak flavor), instead of beef tips and spices that includ cumino and garlic along with other spices in the brown gravy. Maybe, I’m just used to Tex-Mex; however, I did like the salsa. Overall, over priced for the quality of the food. ‘ I don’t think I’ll be going back..

There are many good Mexican Restaurants in Halletsville. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST. Why? Well the service is slow, the food is well below average and the way they treat the customer is the worst I have had in the US in forever.
I ordered the Jalisco plate with the optional Chili Relleno for $6.99 for a total of $24. I did this to share my enchilada and tamala with my disabled nephew. The food came out. The taco was bland and watery, the Charo Beans we average, don’t know about the enchilada or Tamala as my nephew ate them. But the optional $6.99 Chili Relleno WAS BEYOND HORRIBLE. Bad smelling beef stuffing with a half cooked egg coating that looked like a bad omelet. Tried 2 small bites. NO BUENO. Told the waitress to take it immediately from the table. Didn’t want to smell it while we finished eating. When about done they brought the check. Noticed the $6.99 for the Chili Relleno was on it. So when I went to pay I asked are you not taking off rhe $6.99. He was rude and said no you order it you pay for it. I explained common customer service is If you didn’t like it and didn’t eat it you don’t pay. He said here you order you pay. I kindly paid, told him I would be giving him a review. Don’t eat here.

Haven’t been here in at least 3 years. Used to be a good place to visit while hunting but food quality and taste has gone completely down. Usually get the chef recommends but it was so dry and tasteless last night. Rice bland, beans bland. So disappointing. Staff acted annoyed, there was only one server and he was the only one bothering to hustle or care. Wouldn’t visit again. This food is WAY to expensive to be bland and fry. Oh and they changed the tortillas. They are dry, thick, and bread like now, no browning or char on them. Going to try the other place.
