We were initially reluctant to try Sai Sushi—after all, how fresh could sushi possibly be in a small town miles from the coast? But after my massage therapist praised it, we tried it.

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and impressed by the clean, cozy atmosphere. But the real surprise was the sushi—absolutely outstanding! The sushi was exceptionally fresh, the rolls showcased extraordinary creativity, and the presentation was stunning. Every dish exhibited genuine care and skill.

We ordered various sushi rolls, each exceeding our expectations! Every bite reminded us of places we have dined in coastal cities, and it was so unexpected here.

Sai Sushi is truly a gem. It entirely changed our minds about what’s possible in a small-town restaurant. If you’re unsure like we were, don’t hesitate to try it—you won’t be disappointed!

Undoubtedly the most authentic Ramen and Sushi I have had in a restaurant in the southwest VA and northeast TN area. It was super fresh and delicious. No cream cheese to be found lol.

Abingdon has needed a place like this for a long time. Sushi is fresh and delicious. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Has some really great beer selections for things you can’t really get locally. Highly suggest trying the chirashi and tuna/salmon flights. Definitely a much needed gem in town.

Refreshing and rare to find a CLEAN and expertly run Sushi restaurant in this part of the country. Especially considering the caring approach and complete joy the head Sushi chef takes in both preparation and presentation. A thorough knowledge of the art and craft of his work makes patronizing this restaurant a first rate experience in the Abingdon dining community. The setting is large, open, and friendly. The cuisine is delectable, fresh and worthy of top rate culinary accolades. With much of the work in preparation done in-house, the effort put fourth is clearly apparent in the perfectly balanced flavors each dish delivers.

The Sashimi is delicious and I’m greatly impressed by the quality of the ingredients, down to the perfect wasabi and some of the sweetest and tastiest ginger I’ve ever had. When you concentrate on this level of detail with a great sense of pride, the end result leaves nothing further to be desired. Sai Sushi is a gem in the Abingdon community and everyone should treat themselves to this experience.

We had the tuna and yellowtail nigiri, a salmon maki roll, and a dragon roll. Everything was delicious! The fish was fresh and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly seasoned. We will be back to try their ramen. We’re really glad to have a fantastic sushi spot in Abingdon!

We have been there a couple times now and the noodles have always been different from freeze dried noodles. But not anymore they switched over to ramen noodles like out of a 50 cent pack. I don’t know if you know but 50 cent is way cheaper than 20 dollars for a bowl of ramen that you buy at the store

Finally!! Totally legit Asian in Abingdon. This place is the real deal. Super fresh and rolled to order sushi. Let’s keep it going!! They also have ramen which we did not try. But the rolls were fabulous.

Over priced. Bland and not sushi more like cut up fish scraps and rice the fish was chewy and not soft and the way sushi should be. Watched my plate sitting for 15 minutes before being served and never even offered a refill on my drink.. The place wasn’t busy just no one seemed to care about what was going on with anyone but the regular customers.
