Found this Diamond of a spot today while passing through for an event. Amazing food! I’ve been craving OX tail for a hot minute and this place did not disappoint! If you want the best chef in town, she’s right here. Don’t delay, try them out today! I made sure to give the chefs kiss to the cook before I left. I will be back again in January. My picture doesn’t do justice, I took the picture after I was already eating.

This place was everything we expected, but better! We came on Wednesday, and the menu varies each day. We had the fried chicken (fantastic flavor), baked spaghetti, chicken/dumplings, lima bean medley(wow), mac/cheese (yum), vegetable medley. Southern comfort food at its finest, The ladies and gentleman made us feel so welcome. If we lived in this town, we’d be regulars.

The food was mostly good. The fried chicken was delicious. The rice and gravy were good. The greens and cornbread tasted very greasy. I was sad that the buffet style was the only option because Google shows a menu with other choices. Overall, I thought it was over priced for what I received. The service was pretty good so that was a bonus. The worst part was the bathroom. We were traveling so we used the restroom before leaving and the floor was wet and it smelled of sewage.

Horrible customer service!!! I placed an order for 1/2 pan of dressing, I placed three calls after my order to confirm my pick up date and time for November 9, 2023. One call I was told my request was thrown in the trash because she thought it was for October 9th, my order was again confirmed for November but I explained I needed to change the date for pick up November 8th 2023. I did a follow call again on November 7th confirming my date November for pick up November 8 at 11:00 AM and the girl on the phone confirmed to the COOK that I was on the phone and she again confirmed my date and time, November 8th. I live one hour drive away, I arrived at the restaurant at 11:15 and the I advised the same young lady I had been confirming my date and pick up time, she addressed me by my last name! She went to the back and then came back without the dressing and whispered to the cook, I can’t remember her name but it’s a nickname maybe (V) no one came over for several minutes, finally an older lady approached us and said, I’m so sorry, they didn’t tell us about your order and you should have called me, I don’t know her or her phone number!! She even confirmed that I had called the day before to confirm my order, date and time-No apologies, nothing but your order was not cooked. I had this same experience last year with the same cook(V) and all she said last year was, I’m so sorry, they didn’t tell me, but I’m assuming the owner was in there that day for the Thanksgiving pickups and she gave us a large pan of dressing because all (V) offered was. I’m sorry!!! I try to support black owned business but the customer service is awful, especially on catering orders. This is my last time patronizing with this establishment. Restaurant needs to step up the customer service!! I would not recommend catering service from this restaurant.

Highly recommend this restaurant. The manager is vibrant, kind, and energetic. Very diverse menu. Respectful and friendly staff. Excellent fried chicken, collards, mac & cheese, and ox tails. Perfect meal for after church.

They have chicken that is so juicy and lacy cornbread that is so crisp. The greens are amazing. The peas are amazing too! This place will put some meat on your bones too because your plate will be loaded down with food! Great deal price wise for some good country cooking.

First timers coming from out of town to the VA. Chose this place and were glad we did. My husband had the Thursday buffet, and I ordered the cheeseburger. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Staff was polite and did their jobs above satisfaction. We will return.
