Let me start by saying this is not an AI written review. Its me, and it was that good. The wine selection and food are off the charts, sure… But the real star of the show? The SERVICE. Jill literally blew my socks off with her welcoming greeting and detailed explanation of available wines. As soon as I sat down, she dove in to a tasting selection and made sure the glass I chose was exactly what I was looking for. I can’t wait to come back

We came in for a wine tasting and I liked the options they had for flights. I’d never been there before so the staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices were a little high but the quality of the wine and the atmosphere make this a worthwhile stop. They had a nice selection of foods but I didn’t try anytime this time. My husband was very excited to see Gluwein on the menu! We love a glass of warm spiced red wine. So delicious!

While searching online for a place to have dinner, I came across this place and was drawn in by the pictures of the Charcuterie. There are a variety of seating options and a large selection of wines from all over the world for purchase. The food item portions on the menu are smaller, but perfect for two people and allow for multiple tastings to compliment your wine flights. The staff is highly knowledgeable, and can expertly recommend wines according to what you like. We had the Bee Happy, The Janice and Prost. All were amazing. If you love wine bars, The Hawthorn offers a great experience.

We enjoyed our time here as well as the broad list of wine options. The bowl of various olives was a nice addition to our tastings! Server was nice but a bit slow. Maybe it was more busy than it looked. Nice location on the Main Street. Outside seating was available, but only for 4-6 people.

I’m glad I don’t live in Helena, because I would end up spending soooo much money here! Not because they’re expensive (they’re not), but because they have so much goodness! Great selection of killer wines (including a whole bunch of wonderful, wine-geeky stuff), by the glass, bottle, flight, *and* take away! Becca (sp?) was awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! I didn’t eat much as I want super hungry, but the cheese board was solid.

This is one of the best wine bars I’ve been to. The owners and staff love what they do and treat their guests with care and affection. The wine selection is phenomenal and the staff can recommend bottles or glasses for your taste. The snack selection is also delicious. ONLY THE BEST QUALITY HERE!!! That being said, the Hawthorn is hands down one of my absolute favorites! The staff is always well educated, prompt, and professional while still maintaining a low key/casual vibe. The wine selection is always varied and curated with excellent quality at the forefront, ensuring the classic/popular varietal needs are met, while providing offbeat unexpected surprises for people looking to try something new or unique. The charcuterie boards are well thought out, portions are perfect and the crackers are a pure delight. The cherry on top is the price points are incredibly approachable.

We just had our wedding reception in their private mezzanine. Good snacks, good wine good atmosphere. They are reasonably priced for what you get, which is a lot. They let you bring in outside food if they don’t have it (we had cake, brownies and cookies from vanilla bean). Both ladies working (the owners) were great. Very professional and just nice people. They were great to work with when we checked out the venue, during setup and the event.
No one’s drink was empty long and they made sure everyone had fun. If you want to have a relaxing, chill, fun event, I highly recommend. Honestly 10 out of five stars. It was amazing. And I know it sounds like I’m exaggerating or just overly praising. But everything went so smooth, and with so little stress, I’m just on cloud nine with them and I had to recommend them.
