Great small town breakfast/lunch spot open til 3. Serves a very good, consistent breakfast as you’d expect with Giant Pancakes and the lunch sandwiches/Melts are phenomenal. The burgers are ok, seems like frozen patties, fries are delicious. Great place to sit and enjoy a meal on a cold day.

Local or visitor this diner has a very cozy feeling that starts outside and through to inside. The inside is fun and inviting with license plates along with other fun items throughout.
The service is good and friendly. We walked in and was seated quickly. They had bar counter seating and also booths or tables fitting larger groups. Food menu had all the standard breakfast items and more along with lunch.
I ordered a bacon omelette and wife a Chicken salad sandwich. Both tasted good but I prefer bacon mixed into egg and not plopped in middle of an egg crape. My wife’s Chicken Salad sandwich was served as a club with three layers of bread which she was not expecting as well tomato and lettuce but may have missed that preparation detail on the menu.
Overall, its unique and in a small town that we liked. I would not drive 20 miles again to eat but if local, it would be a definite choice.

I have been enjoying Spanky’s for over 5 years. The waffles and pancakes are always delicious. Eggs are always cooked to Perfection never runny never burnt. Every time I’m in this area I’m here at least twice. If you get the chance to have their sausage gravy over biscuits you got to get them. Staff is always friendly coffee is always hot be sure to check them out. Great local place with a cozy feel inside and neat license plate decorations.

Came up on this spot by chance and so glad we stopped ….this place runs like a well oiled machine – they take care of their customers – they make sure your order is right the first time..staff is welcoming (important for melanated persons in this day & time) prices are fair and the food was really good (breakfast sandwich, French toast, and ham omelette) -saved it so we can go back! Update: we went back for brunch the next day! Food was just as good and service was pleasant

It was perfect and was exactly what we were looking for after a long night of partying. We all ordered breakfast food and a lot of it and the waitress nailed all of it. She was so nice, I wish I could remember her name. She was so polite and helpful. Food came out really fast and was extremely affordable. After breakfast she recommend the cinnamon bun which couldn’t have been any better. Also, get the French toast. They also have both sausage patties and links! One of my buddies forgot his jacket and our waitress came running after us with it on! Lol! Thanks again so much!

Visited on a Sunday after church, what surprised me was that the food was not hot; plates were cold and food lukewarm likely as a result. There were nice people working there but they didn’t seem “into” being a restaurant very much. Tables need to to be cleared, was told the wait was 15 minutes (ended up being just five) but those same tables were still dirty when we left. We had clean mats put down on our table with utinsels on top, yet it seemed the table wasn’t wiped first as salt or sugar was everywhere. The seats of this booth also had had crumbs on them. Maybe we just expect NYC service or old-fashioned service a bit too much, but we likely won’t be back. My husband says, “the service was fast but the food was cold, it seemed a bit laid back. It’s a place you go to if you just want something to eat, the food wasn’t great.’ He had eggs and toast with plain hash browns. My omelette was actually really good but lukewarm (spinach and cheddar, it was very light on the cheddar) but my rye toast was cold, the butter was not even melted. No jelly/jam served or offered. We paid cash and had to ask for change after because small bills weren’t given back.
In a nutshell it would be easy to make this place awesome, but options seem a but limited around here so you don’t have to try as hard as what we’re used to in the NY metro area. And don’t take this as a slam, I love the rural small town vibe of the Poconos and appreciate small town classics, this place just seemed to fall short, maybe it was an off day.
