Staff was nice, food wasn’t terrible. The stars reflect the construction of the sandwich itself. Ingredients were not bad, when you get a large Italian sub with lettuce tomatoes & pickles. You should get more than 7 pickles(that’s honestly an over exaggeration) on the entire sandwich. It wasn’t busy. There was no rush, seeing how one of the staff members was sitting down on his phone the entire time I was waiting for my order. The girl behind the counter was warm and welcoming. The woman that made my sandwich was not in a rush. There’s no excuse for a poorly made sub in this situation. I took two bites and realized there was no pickles.

10 STARS if I could! We’re new in town and have been asking friends and neighbors about places to eat and we kept hearing about BIG TOWN HERO and so glad we finally made it in. THE BREAD IS BOMB!! OMG and everything was great too. Love the shredded lettuce and there was something for everybody, even our lucky eater! Looking forward to coming back. Troy and his crew were so friendly and welcoming. Our new favorite sandwich shop in town even though we’re coming from South Eugene.

Went there for the 1st time yesterday, liked it so much went there again today 1/16/26. Both my mom and I ordered the special of grilled cheese bites with tomato bisque soup. We also ordered 2 sandwiches I ordered a panini that was supposed to have bell peppers on it. My sandwich had peppercinis instead of bell peppers and one of the tomato bisque soups was broccoli cheddar when we got home. At no point did the staff make us aware if they were out of anything or that they needed to substitute anything. This is completely unprofessional and I will never again go to this place to eat. Attached is a photo of the wrong soup beside the grilled cheese bites. Although the food is decent, the complete lack of communication makes it a definite no for me in the future.

Overheard your staff talking about being out of tomato bisque soup after our order. The female told the male that our order was first so the order he took had to have a substitution. They argued back and forth about it. While I had no idea this took place, my mother didn’t connect that argument to our order until we sat down to eat. I was not going to out your employees for having an argument in earshot of customers on a public forum, but since you made a dismissive placating comment I decided to update my review

I am a big sandwich fan and typically go to the big 3 in the area. But this time I was looking for something different. Found Big Town Hero while doing a Google search and decided to give it a try. I found their online ordering very easy and comprehensive. I ordered the Super Hero with Turkey, Roast Beef and Pastrami on the Cheesy Garlic Bread. It was so nice to have so many options. I even added cream cheese (which none of the others have) and horseraddish mayo.
The sandwich was Fantastic! That horseraddish mayo hits you right off, but in a good way. It was honestly the best sandwich I have had in 40 years. The bread was so soft and fresh, the ingredients were perfect. And thier broccoli cheese soup is the best as well!
I will definitely be back!
Update: This last time the duo only was a single and the meatball was lacking flavor. Not enough sauce. I’m sorry, but if each sandwich builder can’t produce the sandwich we’ve had before, how can I say they are the best sandwiches? Just another shop that can’t keep quality a priority

This was our first visit passing through Springfield and discovered this quaint deli. The first thing we noticed was that they had fountain drinks. It’s hard to find that in Oregon! The service was fast and friendly. Our order came to our table quick!!
We were pleasantly surprised when we bit in to our hot sandwiches. The bread was SO very soft and the portion size was great.
The meats and cheeses were flavorful and the toppings were fresh.
Would come back again!!

I love sandwiches. They are my favorite food and I’m very critical of what is a good sandwich. I was very worried when I heard there were new owners. Big town hero was always my favorite of all sandwiches, so I had to try it the next time I was in town to see whether it had actually changed or not. I’m thrilled to say it’s just as good as ever! At least our visit was. My wife got their club, and I got the turkey bacon avocado. Let me just say there is no sandwich like a big town hero sub! The bread was as soft as ever, and it was loaded with meat and toppings. We even placed our order over the phone and had customizations and they got everything right. If this is how Big town hero’s subs taste with new owners, then it’s in good hands! I cannot recommend a better sandwich anywhere!

5 stars, all day, every day! I have been eating at this location for 15 years. They have always been great and consistent, but within the last three years, they have really upped their game. Always the best ingredients, great customer service, and if there is ever an issue with an order, it’s always sorted out without complaint. Beats any other sandwich shop in the area, hands down. Turkey Bacon Avocado on Cheesy Garlic bread for the win!

Went here with my mom today around 10 ish am and it was amazing! Guy working there was super friendly. Food was on point. Especially loved the cheddar broccoli soup. Will be back.

Every single time I go into this location of big town hero the guy running the restaurant is over the top friendly and personable! You just never see good customer service anymore and it was really appreciated! He needs to know how great he is!
