Reviews
Visited: Saturday, ~5:30PM — early dinner
We’d been eyeing Fork & Vine for a while–finding good places outside of the big city is hard to find, and this one made the list. We showed up on a quiet Saturday evening, hoping for a relaxed, memorable meal.
Atmosphere & First Impressions
Stepping inside, the décor felt a bit in flux: I saw hints of old‑school Tuscan with red walls, exposed brick, and classic wood tables, but then a modern rustic cut‑wood feature wall that I absolutely loved. The mix left me wondering exactly what aesthetic they were aiming for. The bar feels cozy but somewhat tight (probably a product of spatial constraints). The restrooms struck me as serviceable but in need of maintenance–nothing unhygienic, just fixes and updates. On the bright side, they have a patio, and it’s dog‑friendly (huge plus in my book).
The crowd skewed older early in the evening, which isn’t surprising at 5:30PM. Some patrons were rather “grumpy old curmudgeons,” and I felt for the staff handling complaints. As the night went on, more folks came in, and a short wait formed–but the kitchen paced things nicely, so courses weren’t rushed nor left dangling.
Service
Service was a highlight. From our perch at the high tops, the mixologist helped guide me through the entrée decision, checked in at just the right moments (water, second drink), and made sure everything was to our liking. The manager stopped by as well. Watching the team help each other was a joy to see.
Drinks
We tried the Smoked Old Fashioned and the Rusty Nail. Both were beautifully done–smoky, smooth, balanced–and served with big, clear cubes. I regretted we had to drive home, but they made me want to linger for sips and slow conversation.
Food
Starter: Bruschetta — Ciabatta toasted and topped with house‑made tomato mix plus fig balsamic. Fresh, bright, summery. This was a win; I’d order it again (and recommend it).
Salads: Caesar (sides) — Crisp greens, house dressing, plenty of shaved asiago. Their croutons seemed to be made from house focaccia; I would’ve preferred them a bit more toothsome/crunchy, but they were far from disappointing.
Entrées: Harvest Sachetti & Romano‑Crusted Chicken Parmesan
Harvest Sachetti (butternut squash purée, sachetti pasta, brown butter fig balsamic sauce, candied pecans, fried sage) was lovely, but felt dessert‑leaning in sweetness. My husband commented, “It’s very sweet.” The highlight came when I got a bit of the ricotta tucked inside–then the bite elevated. I just wished for a bit more savory contrast.
Romano‑Crusted Chicken Parmesan was excellent–likely the best in this area so far. The pomodoro tasted fresh, striking a good balance of acidity and sweetness, and the cheese melted just right over the cutlet.
We skipped dessert (we were full), but when I asked, the fried cheesecake came up with “that’s all you need to know”–charming tease, and now I’m wanting to return just for it.
Value & Overall Thoughts
This felt like a strong 4‑star experience. If the interior and restrooms were more polished or better aligned stylistically, I might bump it to 4.5 or 5. But those things alone won’t stop me from coming back–in fact, I’ll bring friends next time.
Pros:
Cocktails are stellar
Service is genuinely warm and attentive
Food shows creativity, executes well
Dog‑friendly patio
Cons / Areas for improvement:
Ambiance is stylistically muddled
Restrooms need upkeep
The “sweetness” edge on the Harvest Sachetti may polarize
Would I recommend Fork & Vine? Absolutely–for date nights, food‑minded dinners, or catching up with friends (especially if you appreciate thoughtful cocktails). Just don’t expect perfection in decor; come for the flavors and the hospitality.
And the food was incredible. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. It felt like the kind of place where every detail matters, from the atmosphere to the presentation of the dishes.
Great food, wonderful people, and an all-around fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be coming back! ✨
The pizza looked and smelled so great coming out of the brick oven. After lunch and dessert, we ordered pizzas and another Tuxedo Bomb TO GO! LOL. Also, the chicken Marsala was juicy, tender, deeply golden and flavorful with a rich velvety sauce to die for! Definitely worth the time.
Recommending to all. Can’t wait to return for dinner to fully enjoy the wine selection.
