Go here. Without exaggeration, this is some of the best mexican food we’ve ever had. I got a #8 my husband had the Pablo burrito. Big portions. Excellent service, beautiful artwork, awesome view of the river. The best fresh salsa and guac, hands down, delicious marinated meats! I am not suprised this place is so busy!

Great Sunday night find!!

I was starving on my way home from a long shift, right before 9pm on a Sunday through Lowell.
Everyone was already closed, or had their kitchen closed, but this restaurant!!

They were super sweet and hospitable, even though I was there right at close, and the food was delicious!!!

A great place to grab lunch! I’m sure it’s equally as good at dinner time, but they have a wonderful lunch menu that offers a perfect amount of food. Their complimentary chips and salsa are awesome and I recommend the sangria wine! Grab a seat on their patio and enjoy the view while you eat.

This is a fabulous Mexican restaurant. The menu has just about anything you could ask for. My husband and I shared a southwestern chimichanga. It was all we could do to finish it. So much food! Chips and salsa excellent. Waitress was very friendly! Would definitely go back if we’re in the area! You won’t be disappointed!

This is a wonderful local Mexican restaurant in Lowell situated “over” the Flat River with the river on 2 sides of the building visible out the windows and outside terrace.

Great food, fair prices and experienced staff. The building is a newly renovated historical building. The interior is clean and attractive.

During the summer you can sit on the decking that hangs from the outside of the restaurant over the Flat River and watch the ducks, fish and summer concerts on the Lowell showboat. You really want to check this place out!

We really enjoyed our experience at Los Portales Bar & Grill! Staff members were friendly. The atmosphere was clean & loved all the artwork throughout. Food was excellent tasting & arrived hot. Free chips & salsa were a nice perk. Look forward to visiting again soon to try more menu items

Went with my sister to try a new restaurant in a small town near her. It’s located right on the main street. It’s small but I liked how it was decorated and arranged. Our waiter was Alonzo and he was very nice. The atmosphere was colorful, cozy, and comfortable. Lots of choices on the menu. We received a complimentary bowl of super fresh salsa and warm tortilla chips. Yumminess! I had a small burrito and my sister had tacos. Food arrived quick and was delicious. I felt we got a lot for our money. Although they have a bar we didn’t have a drink so my order came to only $12 and I couldn’t finish everything on my plate. I highly recommend and plan to go back next time I’m in the area.

Delicious authentic Mexican food! My favorite mexican resturant is El Rancho in Greenville. When I heard the owner was opening a new Mexican resturant in Lowell I was excited to try it.
For our first visit we came on a wednesday evening. They were not busy. The decor is beautiful with hand painted wall murals. Our server was very nice and prompt to take our order. The freshly made chips and salsa were brought out immediately. They have the best salsa, fresh and mild. I was happy to see the menu had some new specialty dishes to try and all the classic dishes you would expect (enchilladas, burritos, fajitas, etc.). We ordered the Pollo Pina (chicken breast topped with pinapple and cheese sauce), Burrito Loco (big burrito with steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas and grilled peppers and onion) and I ordered my favorite the Tilapia big mix plate (grilled tilapia with sprimp and scallops). The food came out in no time at all. Everything was delicious!

The second visit we came on a Saturday during their busy lunch rush. I called ahead since we had a big party and they had a table waiting for us. Even though it was busy, our server was friendly, quick and attentive. Our orders came out fast and hot. We ordered the enchiladas plate and the Texas style Fajitas double platter (a huge sizzling hot portion of beef, chicken, and shrimp with two plates of rice beans and salad enough to feed 3 – 4 people). We topped it off with a plate of warm Churros covered in whipped cream and chocolate syrup. So delicious!!
I’m originally from Texas so I have high standards for Mexican food. Los Portales did not disappoint. It’s now one of my new favorite resturants. I love the food, the decor, and the service is top notch. You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to go in the spring when the patio over looking the river will be nice to sit and sip margaritas.

We love this place. We just went with the build your own tacos. They greeted us with warm chips and salsa. Our waitress hustled and gave great service. She called over someone to help us decide which tequila to get, and the house margaritas are very good. Better than average tacos. Lowell is a city that has a small town feel. They have an outdoor patio over looking the flat river.
