GARY JUSTAK
Haven’t been to Boatwrights since there was a Dixie Landings. Back then we would get the Prime Rib which was some of the best on property. It is still on the menu but we decided to go outside of our comfort zone this time We are staying nearby in Ft Wilderness and was looking for a good sit down meal close by. Glad we came. Food was great. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. There were three of us and we had a wide variety from Jambalaya with scewered shrimp which were perfect to Salmon which was cooked to perfection and the Chicken which was a huge breast breaded and sides of mac and cheese and mashed. Highly recommend.

Food is mediocre at best. Not worth the price. I order the “all you care to enjoy” taste of the bayou not once was I asked or brought more food. My son had the pasta, meatballs and “fresh fruit” from the kids menu. The sauce was a watery mess with no flavor I mentioned it to the waitress and her answered was “well he ate some” well of course he did he tried it. The fruit was so old look like mold on it when I pointed that out they removed the charge for the kids meal. We ended up sharing my 1 plate. The only thing we both enjoyed was the BBQ shrimp appetizer.

My 2nd visit to Boatwright’s after 12 years. I was impressed with the staff at the hostess desk who were able to accommodate me even though I arrived 2 hours prior to my reservation time.
I was a solo diner and felt the server was rushing me throughout the meal. A bit off putting.
The food was okay. I had the All You Can Eat platter. Just okay. The food was warm, not hot with very minimal seasoning. The cornbread was good as were the ribs. The macaroni and cheese really tried but didn’t quite make it.
Overall 3 1/2 stars. I’m from the west coast so I doubt I’ll be back. I believe the food was much better on my first visit so I know Boatwright’s is capable of doing better.

This place should be so much better than it always is. The food is not fresh, the platters of bbq brought out has been sitting in warming plates on the kitchen.
It is all you care to eat, which they bring to your table. It was so unappealing I never asked for seconds. That’s surprising because it’s ribs, sausage, brisket, and all the fixings. I don’t count the chicken as it’s strips of breaded chicken that do not belong on a bbq platter.
My wife had the prime rib. That came out hot and juicy. She did enjoy it. So that’s a positive.
The service was alright, but no one is trying to make this place an amazing experience.
Much needs to be done at this resort but luckily there is still the Yehaa Bob show next door at the lounge. This one person makes the whole experience a positive stay. Don’t miss him! Lots of fun.
Disney please revamp the food service in your two places at this resort.

I was impressed with the quality of the food! Reviews seemed pretty mixed but it was a pleasant surprise to find that the all you can eat platter was solid. The sausage was a bit bland, but everything else from the green beans to the brisket hit the spot. I wish there were more sauce options to go with it, but I must give credit to our server and the kitchen for trying to come up with a spicy BBQ sauce on the fly when I was totally cool with what I already had. Nicola was really great and made the birthday meal a 10/10 experience! This was a total contrast to the cafeteria just down the hall, which was horrible. But I definitely recommend Boatwrights!

We have been here twice now. The platter with the ribs and chicken tenders “All you can enjoy” is massive.
The prime rib is absolutely delicious and must try. The French onion soup is wonderful and so is the cornbread.
It’s not the finest atmosphere of any Disney restaurant by any means but a very enjoyable and good value place to eat. Delicious food.

Our server Joseph was fabulous! The cornbread and honey butter was just the beginning of an amazing meal. The French onion soup and pimento cheese fritters were delicious as appetizers. We had the prime rib and all you care to eat taste of the bayou. The brisket was perfect!

While I enjoyed my meal at Boatwrights I feel like I’d prefer other sit down dinner options around the resort. The portions were more than generous and we easily could have split entrees. The shrimp and grits and prime rib were both too salty, and the cocktail was disappointing. It could have just been an issue our night but we had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation to be seated and then the dinner service felt a bit rushed after that point.

We had the “All You Care to Enjoy Platter” and the “Blackened Salmon” — both tasted really great. I’m usually not someone who is easily impressed, so I don’t understand the negative reviews; maybe the menu or the chef has changed. Especially the cornbread they served first — it was the best I’ve ever had. Also, the All You Care to Enjoy Platter is unlimited — I couldn’t resist and ended up having three plates. The service was also excellent.

This review is was a mixed bag. On the positive, the salmon dinner was good. Unfortunately, there were too many negatives. First, they no longer offer corn bread ahead of the meal. It’s simply bread. Second, although our server was friendly, she wasn’t very attentive. Never asked about our meals or refilled water. Finally, the BBQ platter left quite a bit to be desired. The meats were generally bland and dry. Not an expensive meal by resort standards, but not worth the $100 or so we spent.
