Lao Mao Tao Hot Pot in City of Industry isn’t for the mild-at-heart. This place is built for people who live for spice — and I mean, real spice. The kind that makes your lips tingle, your eyes water (a little), and your taste buds come alive.
The vibe is casual and energetic, with big groups gathered around bubbling pots full of red chili-laced broth. You pick your spice level, but fair warning: even the “medium” packs a punch. If you’re a true spice lover, this place will absolutely test your limits — in the best way.

The best service! Because we have puppies, when we are full, there are leftover pieces of meat.We asked the waiter if he could pack it to take away, and he was very enthusiastic to help us cook it with clear water and pack it!Such warm service and delicious food have to be visited frequently!

We’re longtime customers of this restaurant and come here often. We’re very grateful for Jina’s service—her warmth and attentiveness truly impressed us and made our dining experience wonderful. Great food, great flavors, and great service are the reasons we keep coming back. It’s an authentic taste of China, and we highly recommend everyone to come and try it!

Came around 7:45 and waited for an hour.. so sat down around 8:49. lots of people here so check in at the iPad when you arrive! You can check your wait time from yelp too! Tried most of their meats and they’re great quality. It is a bit pricey so do prepare to spend on the meats. Their appetizer: rice cake was delicious with the brown sugar on it. Highly recommend! I was a bit shocked by the self service snack bar charge by person. Due to us getting in so late… they close their snack bar right on time of 9:30, so get what you want in the beginning if you get in late because I didn’t end up getting the desserts or snacks at all.. also if your short like me, we can’t reach the snacks on top of the bar area.. hopefully they’ll notice that and lower it for us more petite people. Also parking is a bit hard unless you park all the way in the back. It’s more of an experience here and trying it once. Probably be coming back for the rice cake only..

A extremely popular hot pot place. The vibes says a lot about this amazing hot pot place.
Food is great. The service is incredible. I appreciate the friendly staff very much.
Make sure to have the entire group or they won’t seat you.

Lao Ma Tou Hot Pot is my favorite hot pot restaurant in Rowland Heights. The ambient is comfortable. The service is good. The food and pricing are good. One bonus is your body and clothes will have their spicy hot pot smell until your next shower.

This is my favorite hot pot restaurant in LA! The service is always excellent, and the foods are consistently fresh. However, I still miss the old version of their crispy pork—nothing quite compares to it!

3.5. My friend were saying this is the best hot pot in LA, all other famous one he already tired. but long waiting and I really think it can’t be the best in LA … who knows. The price are definitely friendly tho! The service is good. I really have no complaint rather than waiting time.

It’s expensive for one person. I highly recommend everyone ask the server what exactly they’re paying for beforehand. My total for 1 person was $72 including a 15% tip for lunch. This is NOT an all you can eat hot pot restaurant. Like the prime rib eye is $15.99 for six thin slices, once you’re done you have to pay again. The restaurant’s is NOT catered for one person dining, as they sell each food item separately. Therefore it amounts to excessive portions of one item and it quickly adds up in price. I had a lot of leftover vegetables and broth. Other than that the restaurant was nice and clean, the waitress was friendly and the food tasted fresh.
