Everything was fresh and hot, and super tasty! Definitely reminded me of an old-school Chinese kitchen. The lunch plates give you so much food, honestly enough for two people. We had the General Tso’s and sesame chicken, and the chicken was meaty, not fatty at all. The shrimp fried rice was loaded and really good. The egg rolls were big, stuffed, and not greasy. The chow chow didn’t have chopped seasoning in it, but the meat was seasoned well so I didn’t mind. We’ll for sure be back!

On 07-25-2025, My husband and I searched for a place to eat because we were passing through Metairie, La. This place Y. Fortune Restaurant popped up as a top notch place to eat. Once we arrived we walked in and there was a couple sitting at the table. They were waiting on their food. In the front of us there was a plastic divider (wall) in between us and stuff, (junk) everywhere. There was no one to take our order. Finally after about 3 minutes of waiting, a woman walked out from behind the doors and asked, How can I help you?
My husband ordered a Sweet and Sour Chicken with Shrimp fried rice. I then placed my order for a boneless chicken plate, with Shrimp fried rice, and sweet & sour sauce on the side. I asked the lady did the rice come with the chicken? And she answered yes and explained it was a lunch size
Order. I also asked for an order of Crab Ragoons. Our order came to $50 and some cents. I was trying to figure out why was our order so expensive. We didn’t even order egg rolls. When we set down and I viewed the menu, I saw the Crab Ragoons was $12.76 for 6 of them. I was in shock. Whenever my husband and I decide to order Chinese takeout, we always order the Crab Ragoons. The Crab Ragoons always fall in between $6.00 to $8:00 for an order of 6. And we order Chinese food everywhere in the state of Louisiana. We have never saw $12.76, for Crab Ragoons. As bad as I wanted them, I cancelled the order. The lady gave us $14.00 and some cents back for canceling the crab Ragoons. She was very nice about giving our money back. We waited about an additional 10 minutes and finally she came with our food. She walked up to my husband reaching him the plates. Got very close, looked him in the eye, and said to him in a soft voice, I put an extra sauce in there for you. (Flirting) I laughed to myself. Not an extra sauce for us, but him. Anyways we grabbed our food, said thank you walked out the door. When we got to our car, we opened the plates and Wow,
We could not believe the amount of food was on those plates. I went back into the restaurant before we pulled off and I decided I wanted to give her a tip. She had the nerve to take the tip and ask me, did I want some water? She thought I was hot and bothered, after she flirted with my husband. When in reality she was hot and bothered because I asked for our money back and cancelled the Crab Ragoons. The nerve of her. She’s desperate but she’s asking me if I wanted water.
We didn’t start eating it until we got home. The food was so hot. After taking our first bite I went in for another bite. There was green onion, and little pieces of egg in the shrimp fried rice. And the rice was loaded with shrimp. I have never had rice with so many shrimp. The rice was very good. Not much flavor. It needed some seasoning. The boneless chicken, was moist, flat, and crispy. The food wasn’t bad. But it was enough to feed 3 kids and myself. And we don’t have any kids. Too much food for me to eat. It’s okay but I’m not sure we will be returning due to her insults. I will explore other Chinese establishments. There is great Chinese food out there and they serve their customers within a clean environment.

I’m addressing your remarks. I spent money here and I’m entitled to give a fair review. I did not slander anyone. I wrote what I experienced at this restaurant. (Facts) If you’re not ready to handle people’s experiences, I suggest you not read the reviews. You posted links that I’m not able to see. The links are not clickable., I told the truth. You should ask your host to give arms length space to her customers. So she’s not so personal. You dared to mention what triggered her reactions. You dared to mention your crab Ragoons are over priced and I asked for my money back. She didn’t refuse my tip when she insulted me. Slander is making false statements. I was disrespected. The dining experience was quite enjoyable; I’d certainly consider returning. The portion sizes were generous; a single plate could easily satisfy two people. Opted for the sesame chicken and rice combo alongside a side of egg rolls, totaling approximately $30. While the chicken was tasty, it didn’t quite match the traditional Chinese flavor profile I’m accustomed to. However, the rice stole the spotlight with its well-cooked texture and abundant shrimp. It’s arguably the best in the vicinity. As for the shrimp egg roll, it was decent but fell short in comparison. The frying seemed a bit off, resembling that of a corn dog, and the interior tasted like frozen veggies. Not recommended for those who appreciate a top-notch egg roll. In summary, a satisfactory Chinese eatery.

This is a tough one! Mostly takeout business, very small and congested dinning area. The food, however, far exceeds the atmosphere of the place. Each dinner foam carton was overfilled, one dinner is enough for 2 possibly 3 people, average cost $16.00.

I was greeted promptly and offered a bottle of water which was much appreciated. They were friendly and super nice. I ordered egg rolls and fried rice. They wrapped the egg rolls in foil..it kept them hot but they weren’t crispy anymore as the steam softened them.The rice had plenty of shrimp but the smell was very odd. It made me nauseous so I couldn’t eat it. I ate some of the egg rolls. I found the menu prices extremely expensive. The catering menu was even higher. I’ve paid at maximum $60 for a large pan of rice. It’s $155 here. I’m not sure who would pay that. The service was awesome though.

Chloe is so sweet! I love her witty, soft personality. This is mainly a takeout restaurant—I’d suggest calling in your order so you don’t have to wait when it gets busy. I usually run a quick errand and swing by to pick it up. Their “small,” which honestly looks like a large, is only $10 and can feed two people for their fried rice. I always stop by when I’m visiting New Orleans. This is our go-to spot to support a small business. The owner, a small and sweet lady, will even come out to check on you. It’s truly a family-oriented atmosphere.

This place is an absolute gem! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. I had truly some of the best Chinese cuisine. The workers here are some of the sweetest and most genuine folks you’ll meet. They are always smiling, attentive, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome like family every time. Just because a place serves large portions doesn’t mean the food is good. The shrimp fried rice people are raving about is flavorless, even though plenty shrimp accompany the dish. It has a little bit of onion and egg in it and no flavor. The egg rolls are good, but you can’t hang a complete rating on that alone. The place is a dump in the truest sense and isn’t worth going back to. If you like large portions of food that is below average in flavor, run to this place. I ordered to go from the side item’s menu: shrimp fried rice and egg roll.
