You can definitely tell that the ingredients have changed. And I can guarantee it’s not for better ingredients. Sometimes when we used to call, there would be no delivery. So we have definitely cut back on ordering from them as they fall prey to the same tactics many food establishments fall into; trying to squeeze every dollar while simultaneously raising the prices and cutting back on the quantity, and quality.
The pizza used to be like true New York Pizza where it had so much cheese that the reddish looking grease would accumulate on top of the cheese. Now it has such little cheese that you get spots where there isn’t any cheese on it and the bread bubbles up.
Tonight we got a non-sliced pie with barely any pepperoni and bread bubbles and spots from lack of cheese. They literally forgot to slice it. The pepperonis have gotten smaller and few and far between. I don’t mind paying a little more. And I tip well too. But I do mind getting less toppings on a more expensive pizza. I was going to call to speak to the manager before writing this review, but I don’t want to be that guy because it’s not going to make a difference anyway. It’s been going on for a while already, and will continue, until people just start ordering somewhere else and they have to close their doors, or they make even more drastic cuts while continuing to raise the price.
I work long days and they have the pizza I need to make it through and stay fueled up.
I’d leave 6 stars if I could.
I called my order in and the courteous staff CORRECTLY had the pie made by the time I arrived, hot and fresh from the oven. They respected my time on my lunch break and had me out of there in a flash. Inside, the atmosphere was welcoming and I noticed other mid-day lunch break patrons in there. The real test of a restaurant is quality and fillingness. Bruno’s met both requirements! The newer owner has put his/her heart into the place and it shows. From order, to pick up to 4 happy kids munching away without complaint I happy to trade here. Highly recommended!
Had another slice from the pie while heading back and it was definitely, not the same. Had another slice when I got home, and it was even worse. By the next day, the pizza was terrible. The cheese didn’t even melt. That pie went downhill from the moment I left the place.
Definitely the 2 slices I had at the shop and the pie I ordered were made by 2 different people. The thin crust can’t hold the sauce and the cheese. So they use minimal ingredients. The fact that the cheese didn’t melt in the oven the next day shows, it was not ‘real’ mozzarella but a processed cultured cheese that they used. Truly disappointing.
I ordered pepperoni. The phone was answered immediately and was told my order would be ready in in 15-20 mins.
When I arrived the pizza was just coming out of the oven. The price of was reasonable. The pizza was excellent and finally I found a pizzeria that makes authentic New York pizza – right on my new Island — Merritt Island!
