Literally this place was so fire. The theme was on point. I was so shocked that they had peak playing on the TV, so yk I was watching ball while eating. The staff were super sweet and nice like genuinely actual sweethearts. The food was amazing too like just banger after banger. I loved this experience !

I had an amazing time with my husband here! The staff was super friendly, very helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. We went to the bar at the cafe and the gaming area and we loved so much of it! The art was amazing. The merchandise was awesome and everyone was so helpful and such a great time, will definitely go again!

I originally tried this cafe when I moved to Jacksonville last April. I had the ramen and had it doordashed. I wasn’t a big fan of it at the time when it was delivered but when giving it a try in person, my whole opinion of it changed.
When walking in, it can be a bit overwhelming looking at the many food options they may have but the staff was patient, eager to answer any questions we had, and and super friendly! Upon reading reviews before visiting in person, I was weary because a lot of reviews mentioned long wait times and the food not being too good for the value but I completely disagree! If you don’t want to visit for just the food I highly suggest at least paying a visit for the experience! Stop by, catch a drink, and watch some anime. Amazing local spot

Visited from Clinton, TN. We heard about this place from the owners dad, who also owns Asia Cafe in Powell, TN and Knoxville, TN. He also owns Asia Cafe coffee. Everything here was delicious. Had the seared takayaki, house curry ramen, takayaki, pork buns, and luffys dinner chicken l, steak, and shrimp.
Everything was full of flavor. The curry was nice and surprisingly sweet and a bit spicy, which was perfect!
The only issue is that the rice with hibachi was cold, and the noodles in the ramen were all stuck together. Also, the water that is available for free is cold, but it is city water straight from the tap. Filter would be nice.

This place is a nerdy dream come true. The walls are covered in anime themed art (food wars, very appropriate). The walk to the bathroom is an artistic experience in itself. There are some cute Japanese snacks for purchase up front. We took our kids and they loved the streaming anime, yuyu hakusho was on. The food isnt too expensive and its cafe style. We ordered a good sampling of the menu. The highlights were the spring rolls, edamame, & house onigiri. The takoyaki was pretty good but chewy. The pork belly buns were really chewy, it was difficult to bite through. But the buns and sauce were on point. Next time ill try tofu. The dishes were also not very hot. The counter person was polite, helpful, and genuinely enjoyed talking about anime. We will be back. We also stopped into the bar next door and it looked pretty epic.

Delicious, great atmosphere, awesome products from Japan.
One complaint I have, is the meat in my ramen was overcooked, the outside of it felt like chewing on crusty sandpaper (and I’m not exaggerating). But once I cut off the outer layer of the meat, it was delicious and great food.
Service is good.
And the atmosphere was great, everyone was so friendly, I sat down with my girlfriend and we almost instantly started a convo with the table next to us and had a nice convo.

I saw this place on Instagram and decided to try it. I really love to set up up this restaurant. It’s super cute if you’re into the anime thing which my kid is. The guy at the counter was really nice and explaining the menu as I told him it was my first time eating there. I ordered the Ramen, I wish I could say I enjoyed it, but it was lukewarm. We also tried the chicken boa buns which honestly was the best thing that we had on the order. My kid had the chicken Katsu and although it was good, I really feel like these portions are super small for the price that we paid. Also, we waited for our food for an hour and a half. I’m not gonna try the food again, but I will go next-door to their bar for drinks and karaoke because that was a vibe.

The cafe, the bar and the boba store is pretty cool I wish they were all connected instead of going door to door.. food is good and they need more ramen options.. you can play games.

My husband has traveled to Japan many times for work, so I’m always on the lookout for places that remind him of one of his favorite places in the world. Nakama Anime Café delivers just that! Clearly inspired by the passionate anime community, the café features a dining side, as well as a bar with drinks and karaoke.
The service is made-to-order, so it took a little longer, but both the diner and bar staff were friendly, enthusiastic, and especially helpful to us as newcomers to JAX. During the day, the diner side seemed to have a lot of families, but you can opt to sit on the bar side if you’re kid free, and they’ll bring your food over.
The atmosphere is vibrant, with anime and Japanese-inspired décor covering the floors, walls, and ceiling. It’s a busy, fun spot, and I highly recommend checking it out!

Fantastic dango!! Super fun decor and I learned about a new anime while I was there! (It was playing on one of the screens)
For food we tried both of their onigiri, a sando, and pork belly bao. The onigiri rice was cooked JUST RIGHT, the furikake mix was on point AND totally not too salty!!! Their yaki onigiri was perfectly grilled. (I do wish they had a filling but they were still very flavorful!!) My bro liked his sando and we forgot to take a pic. The pork belly bao was a good texture too and they didn’t smother it in sugar sauce like some places do so that was nice. This cafe is neat and I hope they continue to thrive!!
