As an out of state visitor, it’s fun to try new restaurants! I’ve visited NC multiple times in the last few years and never visited a Cookout. I’m so glad that our Uber driver (thank you, Kourtney!) recommended Cookout as a great and affordable place to get a burger, hot dog, chicken, sides and yummy shakes!
During my recent trip I visited this restaurant twice and had really good experiences both times.
For fast food burgers, I would rate Cookout in my top 3. The burger was really good, loved all the options for toppings, really loved all the options for sides, and thoroughly enjoyed the shakes. In my visits and including sharing food with my family, I was able to enjoy the onion rings, white cheddar cheese bites, fries, chili cheese fries, corn dog and coleslaw. They were all good. The onion rings and cheese bites were my favorite.
The chocolate cherry shake was one of the best shakes I’ve had. I loved all the pieces of fresh cherries. I tried a blueberry shake and also enjoyed the fresh fruit.
Because I try to be fruggle, I really enjoyed that we could get a burger, 2 sides and upcharge to a medium shake for about $12! In my home state of CO, such a meal would easily be over $20 at a fast food restaurant.
I can’t wait to come back in a few months when I visit NC again!

All NC knows Cook Out is awesome. Staff is lovely—always so nice. This location has two distinct issues for me: Drivers don’t understand the drive-through at all. For some reason, my usual order of Cajun chicken sandwich is consistently super thin at this location which makes it drier, and is always missing a tomato. Dunno what’s up with that, but it’s a bummer.

What happened to this Cookout? I thought it was great when it first opened, but had a drastically different experience this afternoon. First of all, I was able to pull right up to order. It didn’t take long to get to the second window, but it felt like I was waiting for about 10 mins total. This is not fast food.
We were given two drinks without straws. When we got home and looked at the food, we found that the food had melted both the styrofoam containers, so we had to throw away food to avoid eating chemicals. If you’re going to use styrofoam, the foils should be protecting all of the food, not just the bottom. This is so bad!

It’s a Cook Out. Great variety with that iconic taste in every bite. Burgers, BBQ, Chicken, all the classics fast, efficient, and delicious. The place to take care of that fast food craving with better value and quality than many other national chains. Don’t even get me started on the shakes and floats, possibilities are endless here! Service was great.

Usually the service is really good here but today it was horrible, the cashier that hands out the food didn’t greet us at all, not to mention he almost forgot our drinks and he threw the ketchup at us. Very rude he was, I didn’t catch his name. He also didn’t tell us to have a nice day or even apologize. Also on my chicken sandwich, I ordered jalapeños on my chicken sandwich. They added way to much jalapeños that I couldn’t even taste the chicken. They also just threw the fries in the bag. Don’t know what’s going on today but it was bad. Although the girl at the window where we pay was nice, no problems with her. (Same with the guy taking orders outside)

Glad to have the new Cookout in town. Ate lunch here in this dine-in version. It’s rare to find such. Cookout moved in to the old PDQ location so that’s why there’s seating inside. My burger and onion rings were typical Cookout fare. Pretty good overall. The place was very busy on a weekday lunch hour. Drive thru was a long line. Recommended burger joint. Shake lovers will enjoy 40+ flavors.

This location looks way better than most as it’s a newer build.. definitely a great place to take your family and sit down and eat.. be warned it is popular and can get busy at times though. I took my son before the afternoon rush it was amazing and peaceful.

Avoid this location AT ALL COST! The owners don’t seem to care about their customer relationship. I’m constantly waiting over 20 minutes in the drive thru only to receive cold food. Food prices are not cheap these days. I work hard for my money so if I’m paying for a meal at your establishment it needs to be served atleast warm. I’ll post below the abomination of a sandwich I received. Chicken tastes like it was 3 days old, dry, cold, and just look at that tomato.

Shake tasted like crap. The young woman outside taking orders seemed like she didn’t even care about her job. It took us like 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. And on top of all of that when we got home and I was drinking my shake there was hair in it. Absolutely disgusting
