Small, family owned, authentic Italian food. Big portions. Salad was very fresh and crisp and the house made Italian dressing was so good. We had cavatelli with sausage and a pepperoni calzone. The pasta had a thick layer of baked cheese and lots of crumbled sausage. The sauce is rich and flavorful. The calzone was stuffed with pepperoni, mozzarella and ricotta cheese and came with a side of marinara sauce. We absolutely will come back. The pizza served to the next table looked amazing!

The food was fabulous. Nothing is pre-made, all food is freshly prepared so it takes longer to receive the meal. It’s not fast food, folks, but well worth the wait. You won’t be disappointed!

Never had a bad experience here. Mom and Pop authentic Italian restaurant. Italian culture.
Only place in Des Moines that does sausage pizza right! (crumbly, crispy, and with fennel)

Excellent, no notes- noodles were cooked to perfection. Sauce sticks to the noodles, great consistency. Homemade breadsticks!! Lots of food for a good price, my sister and I were able to split an entree with some leftovers to spare. 10/10 will be coming back

We got there a bit early, and they opened promptly at 5. Our server/hostess seemed to be doing it all even as more and more people started showing up. She did a fantastic job. We started with a order of cheesesticks served with a rich red sauce. Breading was delicious and fried perfectly. I ordered the Chicken Parm, and my wife ordered the Eggplant Parm. Salad and bread came out next, salad was cold and crisp, bread was warm and very good as well. Next comes our main dish, Both were hot and cooked to perfectly. Nothing exceptional, just good basic Italian food. We both have decided to go back and try the pizza, as it looked delicious.

Showed up around 5:30 and they were busy. Got seated right away. Food was to us very quickly. The service was good, the food was good, the place was clean and well kept. Bring your own beer or wine! They don’t sell any alcohol.

The food was good. The service was pretty good. The tiramisu was wonderful. Their unique take on sandwiches is interesting but be warned so you’re not surprised. Based on a first visit. Will be back.

Been driving by it for a while and finally gave it a try a couple weeks ago. Not sure if it is because I haven’t had pasta in a while and was hungry, or if it really was that good, but it is the best pasta I can remember having…ever. It was fantastic and I’ve been wanting to go back ever since!

We got this only because Chucks is still closed, thought we’d try it. Id say it was pretty good but not as good as I expected.
My friend got the sandwich that is pictured. He said it was chewy, and there was only 4 meatballs on this (which I would have liked, as im not a huge meat person) but he was disappointed with it. They do make their sandwiches in a unique way, though- instead of a standard bun, they seem to use dough and bake it. Thats the only special thing I remember about this place.
I ordered cheese tortellini. Extremely disappointed. I could have made better on my own. Nothing special about it whatsoever.
My daughter got a cheese pizza – it also wasn’t memorable – we got it 2 weeks ago and she didn’t even remember what she ordered! Once I reminded her, she said the pizza wasn’t good at all. I probably wouldn’t eat there again. Just my honest opinion, sorry.

Ordered a take out kids meal. The order came out as adult and they charged me full price. It was also 15 mins later than they told me. The person working the counter was extremely rude. She actually told someone who was looking for napkins and water refills that she couldn’t make her happy. Food was awful. Won’t be back or recommend.
