Just had a birthday dinner here and it was an amazing experience. The service, the kindness of the staff and the excellent food made the night wonderful. I will be a regular thanks to such kindness. Also portions are very generous and the plum wine is perfect.

I cannot express how great this place is! Wonderful service, my boyfriend and I have made this our “in between” date spot and have been so pleasantly surprised every time we eat here. Great service, the owners always go above and beyond, and with reasonable prices too! It’s wonderful for all ages and has a variety of sushi and hibachi. The chef is talented, friendly, and charismatic which makes the hibachi feel like a private show! The complimentary soup, salad, and ice cream are the cherry on top. Check these guys out!

It’s always a good time at Surah’s. J manages the place well and is often running one of the hibachi tables. Yoon makes excellent sushi & sashimi, ask for a tuna with bisalmic dressing it’s delicious. As a family, we eat there about every two weeks, our youngest son more often since he works in Mt Airy, and we always bring home our leftovers as the food is too good to waste.

Our family visited again yesterday after a while, and it was beyond expectations. We were happy to see the hibachi chef who commutes from Virginia every day. He was as friendly as ever and carefully cooked for each guest.
It was especially meaningful because it was our son’s birthday, and he really enjoyed it. Compared to other hibachi restaurants, the food quality and portion sizes are excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. This place is perfect for families with kids.

Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, excellent presentation/show! Catered to our picky eater child who loved the whole experience and tried new foods. Thank you for a wonderful night!

Went there for a birthday celebration dinner. I made the reservation weeks in advance but when we arrived, they didn’t have my reservation. Luckily, they were still able to accommodate us. Food was ok – nothing great. The ventilation there was terrible. Everyone of us was coughing at times from the smoke because they had all grills/hibachis going at the same time. Our clothes reeked of the smell and couldn’t wait to get home to get them off. The atmosphere wasn’t good at all. Ceiling was way too low. It was way too loud.

Very nice and accessible Japanese restaurant in Mount Airy. I stopped here last week to try their sushi menu with my wife and daughter. We entered the restaurant and we greeted by a staff member and were sat right away. The restaurant has two sides. One side that looked to be mostly hibachi and the other side had a well stocked bar, a regular dining area and also had one hibachi table. The waitress was very nice and took our order right away. The sushi plate was extravagant and included nice sized pieces of fish. Most of sushi was very good and some could have been better, but I was generally satisfied with the meal. My wife had a chicken dish that was very good a well. Overall a great restaurant with good food and extremely nice staff. I will be back

I visited this place after a friend’s recommendation. It’s a great place for a family meal. Above all, I was so grateful for the attention to children, which was incomparable to other restaurants. The kids were absolutely delighted throughout the meal. The hibachi food was delicious, and the fire show was fun. My family will definitely be coming here again.

My husband and I came here for the first time and we thought it was pretty good. The service was good any mistakes that were made were corrected without us having to mention the mistake. My husband got the bulgogi and he said the shrimp was over cooked, the bulgogi was little too bold and he got tired of eating it because of that reason. He thinks he it needs more balance to enjoy it a little longer. I’d prefer a different sauce for the salad like the orange salad dressing other places use (not sure the name of the dressing) instead of the peanut paste sauce. The sushi was very good. I got the spicy California roll and my husband and got the smoked salmon maki. We got the Flaming Volcano drink for two and it was pretty cool and aesthetically pleasing. Overall it was good and we’ll be back. They also had a button with three features such as “call”, “pay”, and “cancel”. It was a nice little feature to have for the restaurant. We used it when we walked in and once again when we wanted to pay, and the little button worked out well.
