The Vogt House by Banging Gavel is a charming and cozy gem in Tinley Park. The atmosphere is warm and quaint, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal.
They offer a full bar with stellar, well-crafted cocktails, and their happy hour from 3–6 PM is fantastic, featuring great drink and food specials. The menu is eclectic and impressive, with every dish feeling thoughtfully prepared.
We tried the pimento cheese dip, fire crackers, oysters Rockefeller, beet salad, and the “BG” fried bologna, and every single item was delicious. Each dish balanced creativity and comfort perfectly.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jim, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming—his hospitality made the experience even better.
If you’re looking for excellent food, standout drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere, The Vogt House by Banging Gavel is well worth a visit. Highly recommend! Oh, and they brew their own beer!

We had our wedding celebration here in June, and it was absolutely perfect – thanks to Mary Ann! Mary Ann was so helpful with coordinating the day, and incredibly kind through the whole process! She is so thorough with planning, and making sure everything was to our liking!
The day of our celebration everything was amazing and went smoothly! The food and drinks were a huge hit, and the entire staff was incredibly kind! We were also happy with the gluten free options and dietary accommodations !!
Would HIGHLY recommend having an event here, and also a meal and drinks!

I really love this place! I’ve had a great experience everytime. The place is beautiful – inside and outside. They have a bonfire pit and plenty of outdoor seating on their patio.
They have a wide selection of drinks too! Craft beers that are delicious and plenty of cocktails to choose from too!
Last time I was there I got a salted caramel martini and I asked the bartender if she could add espresso to it and she said “no problem.” It was one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had.

We ❤️ Banging Gavel! Besides being regulars here, I recently hosted my 30th birthday at Banging Gavel and it was amazing. I cannot recommend enough for great food, great cocktails and beer, good vibes and live music and the best staff. Especially Adrian, who recommended and made a delicious custom signature cocktail for my birthday. Their dog friendly bier garten is also our favorite hangout spot in the summer. If you’re ever in downtown Tinley, it’s a must try!

A group of our friends decided to get together and enjoy the Restaurant Week offerings at The Vogt House by Banging Gavel Brews. We started off with a cocktail in the bar. We then moved over to the dining area not in the bar area. Comfortable, beautiful and very conversation friendly would be words we would use to describe our experience. The staff were very friendly and the barkeeper was very knowledgeable on cocktails and wines. The tasting menu was very balanced and had lots of options to choose from. The regular menu is also expansive and is likely to have something for all diners. Overall a great evening. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Mary Ann was attentive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our event special. She took the time to meet with us and carefully plan out the hors d’oeuvres and drink selections, ensuring everything aligned perfectly with our vision and budget. There were no surprise fees or last-minute changes, which gave us total peace of mind during a busy time.

This was our second time here and first time enjoying the patio. I have to say the patio space is absolutely awesome!! Plenty of tables, a dedicated bar and bathrooms outside, nice bathrooms. They had burger and beer special so we all jumped on that. Burgers were cooked on the flat top right outside. Nothing gourmet just very tasty burgers!! The beers were really good too! It was over 90° out but it was breezy. The sun sails helped shade a few tables but a few more sails would make it perfect. We will definitely be back for some evening beers and a bite soon. Such a beautiful space, inside and out!

We loved it! We ordered a veggie flatbread pizza, the pimento cheese and seasoned saltines ( omg they are addictive) whipped edamame and salad . Everything was super fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back. Kat the manager was very attentive and friendly and took us upstairs to see the private banquet areas. There was no food service in the beer garden but they let us order our food and bring it out ourselves. Its a beautiful space.

We just had our 25th reunion tonight! It was excellent! Beckie was so accommodating and was so generous to us . The waitress Jen was awesome excellent service, atmosphere and food! Would definitely recommend for special celebrations , girls nights or date nights ❤️
