Let me start by saying this has nothing to do with the team working the evening shift. Those guys are absolutely incredible. They are doing their best managing a nonstop rush of customers and what looked like 20 to 30 online orders constantly coming through. They were calm, kind, and working as fast as humanly possible. The food? Amazing. Truly worth the hype.

The reason for the one star is management. This place desperately needs more than two people working at a time. I was told the owner or whoever runs it refuses to hire more staff, and it shows. I stood in line for an hour just to get four tacos. I watched multiple people walk out because the wait was so long.

This business could be absolutely crushing it with proper staffing. The team they have is strong, but they need support. It’s honestly sad because I love the food, but I won’t be coming back until they bring on more team members to support the ones who are clearly giving it their all.

Overall food was spectacular. We had a cali burrito, 4 street taco of pastor, asada, carnitas and chicken. We also had a fish taco and the birria. All for $40! Cali burro & birria were mouth watering delicious! Will definitely come back!

I live in the neighborhood so have been here a half dozen times. It might be a little more pricey than others but the food is always great and what you should expect. Full of flavor, decent size portions. Yes some cuts of meat have fat but my humble opinion this adds flavor. If you don’t like fatty cuts of meat then don’t order it!!! If you don’t like grease dont order a product cooked in grease and then complain and give a low rating!!! I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion but give a fair opinion. I would also add that today I ordered the potato, bacon, breakfast burrito and there was plenty of bacon. So yes, love this place

Ordered 2 bacon burritos and they both have absolutely no bacon. Just cheese egg & potato. There was no one there besides me I’m confused how this mistake could happen?

Cool upscale restaurant with great food. We came from NM and were happy to have some Mexican food unlike what we get at home but equally delicious

I had the best breakfast burrito, salsa, and horchata of my entire life at El Jefe. Everything is cooked fresh to perfection. The salsas and horchata are made in house, and you can tell. I’ve never had salsa from a restaurant taste better than homemade until I ate here. The horchata was the perfect blend of sweet and cinnamon. It tasted like drinking a churro. The owner and employees were so friendly. Couldn’t have had a better time. I am going to become a frequent visitor here!

The interior was great. It was clean and everything was in order. The service was excellent. Two man crew but they got it done. the food on the other hand, not great. Greasy Quesabirria taco, not worth the price. Was missing flavor. The California burrito had way too much cheese and little meat. Salsas were ok. Felt very Americanized “Mexican” Food. I don’t think I’d eat there again, but wish them the best.

The salsa at this place is DELICIOUS! We got birria tacos. The meat was more of a stew meat than I’m used to but the taco with the broth to dip it in really hit the spot. We also shared Al Pastor nachos and I was super impressed! They give you so much cheese and toppings. It was a nice touch they put everything like sour cream and guac on the side so they were still perfectly crunchy by the time we got home with our takeout. Definitely will be back!
