We recently had the pleasure of experiencing Kubo’s cuisine for the first time. Despite the considerable travel distance, our visit was well worth it, driven by previous recommendations and personal interest. We were genuinely impressed by the quality of the food; each dish we sampled, including the sinugba, palabok, and Filipino-style spaghetti, was both fresh and exceptionally flavorful.
Their commitment to customer satisfaction extended to their takeout service. The careful packaging of each item was evident, especially with the sinugba, where cold ingredients were intentionally kept separate from the hot portion. We particularly valued the owner’s thoughtful instructions on how to plate the sinugba at home. Furthermore, the personalized service, such as the owner hand-delivering our order to us outside, significantly enhanced our experience.
Kubo stands out as an excellent establishment for authentic, fresh, and delicious Filipino food. We strongly recommend it and eagerly anticipate our next opportunity to explore additional menu items.

Had some of what is probably the most authentic Filipino food in the Portland area. Rex and his staff keep the food as flavorful and unique as it could be and I’m so glad I came across this place. Had the Pork Sisig and the Lechon Kawali with their own homemade sauces and I’m surprised I almost finished all that food on my own. Highly recommend!

It was our first time trying Filipino cuisine, and everything exceeded our expectations — absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding; they took the time to explain the dishes and gave thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be perfect for our family. We left so impressed and can’t wait to come back!

Tried almost everything!
Main dish were on point except that I would have preferred smaller cuts for the sisig. Otherwise, food was amazing including the sweets and dessert. Remained true to the Filipino ingredients and taste. Serving the true Pinoy palate with level spiciness that can be adjusted according to your province of origin :p ! No Halo Halo during the fall/winter seasons though. There’s only two tables inside so that limits the indoor eating capacity but plenty of spaces outside it seems.
They also cater!
Rex, the owner, is very Pinoy! Always smiling, evidently hardworking, and warmly welcomes everyone!
Wishing this business all the best! See you soon!

I recently returned from a visit to the Philippines and wanted to introduce my family to some of my favorite foods. Despite being a very small location, Kubo has a great selection of dishes and everything was delicious!! The owner was also friendly and helpful and walked us through the menu.
The dishes we ordered were the inasal, pancit bihon, tofu sisig, adobo, and kare-kare. Even my family members who dislike tofu thought the tofu sisig was amazing! We also took home some flan and ube jam.
We look forward to visiting again! Thank you!

As a vegetarian, the tofu sisig was recommended to me and was absolutely delicious and so flavorful! Very nice and welcoming employees. Inside there is only seating for 6 people with some outdoor seating options as well – just something to be aware of. Was able to grab a seat inside to enjoy a cozy meal. Will be coming back in the future!

The food was great and satisfying. We did not expect that they only have a very small space inside to eat. I liked the interior of the place. The pork sisig was kinda different from what I expected especially the egg on top of it and it was a little oily for me. But I liked how crunchy it was. I also enjoyed their sweet and spicy vinegar. Overall, it definitely had the taste of home. You have to check them out!

Great tasting food. Had a craving for crispy pork (lechon) and a quick search cake up with this place. There’s not much room to dine in, only two small tables… But the lack of space is made up by the great tasting food. I ordered the pork belly and the crispy pork. Both were delicious. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m in the area.

Kubo is a warm and welcoming Filipino spot in Bethany with delicious comfort food and amazing hospitality. The Pancit Palabok is a standout—savory and rich, with a flavor profile that reminds me of Pad Thai, and as a rice noodle fan, I loved it. The Beef Sinigang is perfect for a cozy meal, with its tangy broth and tender beef served with rice. The owner is incredibly attentive and makes you feel like family. There’s so much more on the menu I can’t wait to try next time!

I haven’t tried Filipino food until this trip. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it was a little on the expensive side. I ordered the Pork Sisig, which is roasted pork belly and chicken liver. Let me say, it was a treat my taste buds will never forget. Another downside is you have to pay 3 dollars extra for your dish to be placed on a bed of rice. With the total coming in at 21$ just for a 1 person meal, that is a little expensive I think. Had i not got the rice and paid 18 for just the meat I definitely would have gone off my lunch break still hungry. That being said, if you want to treat the taste buds, and don’t mind spending the extra few bucks then give this place a shot!
