We visited town on Friday to attend a Racing Louisville FC game and had lunch at the Barrel Bar and Grill in downtown Louisville on Saturday afternoon. The food was enjoyable—the burger was excellent, while the hummus was just okay. My daughter ordered the vegetarian burger and said she liked it too. The restaurant was almost empty, so our service was very fast.

We stopped in for brunch and a bloody many.. unfortunately this establishment did not live up to expectations. First impression, floors were dirty and didn’t look like the restaurant was cleaned up from the night before. We sat down and ordered Bloody Marys and a few of us ordered breakfast. Only 1 guy working the bar and restaurant so everything took a bit . My sister and I asked for a “basic bourbon” substitute from the benchmark bourbon that was supposed to be in our drinks . We were up charged to $24 a drink . The drinks themselves were not good. No garnishes, definitely not filthy mix like the menu said, and definitely no love . Food came out quick and was also not good. Didn’t even toast the bread for the avocado toast and those were definitely yesterday’s sliced tomatoes. I wouldn’t recommend this place for brunch. Pick another spot.

Great place for a quick bite. Bartender waited on our table of four. Basically had the chicken-bacon Caesar salad and nachos. Both were very good with as generous amount of protein on each dish. Very speedy service as well.

the nachos LOOKED amazing but TASTED sub-par. under the top warm layer, the cheese wasn’t even melted and all the ingredients were cold. the pulled pork was ICE cold on some pieces.
the window to the street was open, which at first I thought was nice until the people standing outside smoking were causing cigarette smoke to blow right into where I was sitting. the soda i got was flat. the only small redeeming quality was the bartenders were nice.

Beautiful place with decent seating. Waited 15 mins and had to walk around and look for someone to give us service. Got the wings and they were cold on the inside, my dad got the chicken wrap and he said it was pretty good. My meal ended up being just French fries. Idk if it’s lack or care or what but won’t waste my time coming back and will just hit the other restaurants close by.

My wife and I were searching for a nice spot to grab a casual dinner and happened to walk into The Barrel Bar. We grabbed a seat and were greeted quickly. We enjoyed sharing a large Bacon and Chicken Caesar Salad and the Dry Rubbed Lemon Pepper Wings. Great food and location. While the staff was friendly and professional, they seemed either understaffed and challenged by trying to attend to following up with tables, getting refills or getting checks. They kindly did all those things when asked, but we sat a while and had to ask. Still, I would recommend The Barrel Bar and Grill for a casual meal.

As a long-time Louisville visitor from Illinois, i consider your town easily my favorite city. I came in expecting to really enjoy a great meal and a couple of drinks to unwind . Self seated on the window due to the restaurant being packed ,waited 15 min to not be acknowledged.
Walked to the bar to let the help know we were there and got a Lil annoyed blonde say ok, we’re slammed, and we will get there! Finally, get a drink and food order in and wait another 15 min . I walked out and grabbed my own water from my truck . Appetizers came out fresh and large portioned ! Order came out. Spot on… best burger I’ve had in town ! Then, the kitchen sent our appetizers out again and then our order ( not ordered again) we ordered another round of drinks and requested to close out and waited 15 min on the bill .
When the irritated blonde snapped the bill into my fiancé’s hand, I was surprised at the spicy attitude! I left the cash at our seat.
I’ve never been served or treated like this in a restaurant or bar by the help ever .
Great food and drinks ! ….Honestly, I wish you good luck with your business if this woman keeps it up. She’s not a great representative for your impressive investment.

Very nice place in the downtown of Louisville, where one can get some good beers and have some good burgers too. I’ve been there today for the very first time and decided to follow a waitress recommendation to get myself a Cowboy Burger. And it was a very good one. Thank you Regina for service today.
