It’s a clean store. The lady who served me both times I stopped in was standoffish. She has a very snobby attitude, like a poor person pretending to be well off. How sad and lonely she must be in life. I asked for some Pączkis, and she said they only sell them on Fat Tuesdays. I asked why not sell them all year? She said she didn’t think they would sell otherwise. Her keywords, “didn’t think”. She wasn’t thinking well for sure. I just visited Smurawa’s Country Bakery two weeks ago and their Pączkis were selling like hot cakes. I purchased one baker’s dozen. Honestly, it’s worth the one-hour travel up to Pulaski for their bakery compared to Manderfield’s because the products are better and when you purchase a jelly-filled product, you don’t get ripped. It’s really packed with jelly to the ninth. Manderfields hardly has any jelly-filled pastries. They have whipped cream-filled, but no Bismarcks or Pączkis to speak of any time of the years. I was very disappointed in this bakery.

Thought I would give this place a chance because I have been always going to another bakery close to my house. I was greeted by a rather stand offish woman with gray hair. Told her my order and told her that I needed some rolls too. That was met with a sigh because that required a different form. She asked when I needed them for and reminded me that they closed at 2 the day I needed them. I said I would have to pick them up at 1 because I work until 12:30. She said wow you are really pushing it aren’t you? Didn’t really appreciate her attitude. They also called me at noon on the day of pick up saying that my order was still there, even though I told them 1 PM. The cake was beautiful but I think I will stick with Simple Simon who has online ordering, which simplifies issues like this. And there I am always met with a SMILE and they seem happy to have my business.

I have been ordering birthday cakes from Manderfields for over a decade and they never disappoint! The last cake we ordered this past week was a red velvet with cream cheese frosting I can’t even express how delicious this cake was!!! Unbelievable! The cookies, breads and other baked products are always delicious as well.

I began visiting the East location earlier this year, and each visit has left me feeling dissatisfied. The older woman at the front counter often speaks in a dismissive or negative tone, which makes interactions unpleasant.
In July, when ordering a birthday cake, she repeatedly made discouraging comments about what the bakers could or could not do without consulting them. She especially pushed back on my requested cake color, offering unnecessary negative remarks. When I picked up the cake, her comment—“Oh wow, it did come out like you wanted”—reinforced that her earlier concerns were unwarranted.
Recently, I experienced the same issue when placing another cake order, with my request again being contradicted rather than simply noted. I would have appreciated my request being passed along to the bakers instead of dismissed.
Overall, the consistent negativity has made what should be an enjoyable experience frustrating.

By far one of the best bakeries I’ve been to. Real butter danish, a cream puff that is real light and fluffy cream in a fantastic egg pastry. Service was fast and excellent and the staff ready to serve and please. Beautiful presentation and lovely atmosphere. Thank you for allowing me to experience a real hometown bakery again!

Stopped in this morning to try some different treats. I talked with one of the staff members about wedding desserts options and she was very helpful even though this location does not coordinate events. She was able to give me lots of ideas on what they could make in a mini form and suggestions that were different than your usual cupcakes and cake. I’m not sure why I never stopped in more frequently but that will definitely change. The staff was so incredibly kind and friendly and the desserts were all amazing. My fiance is now sold on choosing manderfields for our wedding.

If you come here you will not be disappointed. Today was my first time and Robin walked me through pretty much everything in the bakery with a gleam in her eye; the positive energy and sugar scented air was palpable. Incredibly friendly service and out of this world flavors. Amazing!

One of my favorite bakeries and they always have delicious baked goods. My parents 50th wedding anniversary is coming up and I knew immediately that I wanted to get a cake for them from Manderfields. Since I don’t live in the area anymore it was super easy to call ahead of time and place an order for the cake. I went to pick it up and they did a beautiful job decorating it. My parents were thrilled with the cake. Can’t wait to eat some cake tonight.
