I wasn’t sure what to expect of stubs as I came into the restaurant. As soon as I entered the main dining area and saw the plaque on the wall certifying Angus meat, I started to get excited.
From the adorable breadboard, to the side salad with three dressings at the table, to the perfectly cooked meat, all the way through to the final surprise of an ice cream bar for dessert I had a wonderful meal here .
Perusing the menu was one of my favorite experiences at a restaurant ever. I absolutely adored the descriptions for the different meals and the ways that they were listed. It made it very easy for me to decide that I was ” undecided ” and therefore needed to have fried walleye and steak cooked rear. Everything was made to perfection .
Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. The children in our large group had to sit at a separate table, and the quality of service that they received made me love the restaurant even more.
I hope I get the chance to come back again soon!

The best food ever! I have been stopping at Stub’s for about 40 years for their prime rib. It is well worth the money and will fill your belly! Great food, great atmosphere & great people!

Great Steak restaurant in a small town!! The homemade salad dressing is wonderful! The steaks are cooked to order and so good!! The bread served up at the table is delicious with an assortment of warm soft bread. And the bite size ice cream bars served at the end of dinner is the icing on the cake!! The staff is always so friendly too!! I highly recommend it! Get there early though as it is a very popular place!!

Stub’s burnt down. The sign says “Stu ‘s” the restaurant may or may not return, I don’t think it will. It’s a shame that I never went there before this my 5 stars are only so it keeps a 4.6 rating. The “temporarily closed” is longer than it seems.

A standard bearer of steak and seafood rural dining. What’s not typical is the service. Very efficient, and done with a smile. If you’re in the area and want a great piece of prime rib show up on Friday or Saturday at 5:00pm sharp or you might miss out.

The last 2 times I and my son have had steak and lobster bites. We both agreed it was good, but the steak was nothing to write home about… like it used to be! Mid range at best. The price requires a better cut. Service was excellent.

The servers were excellent. The appetizer was good. The main entries were way below standard. Fish was over cooked. Medium rare steak was well done. Chicken was dry. Had to ask for a knife. Meal was over priced for what we received. Again the servers were excellent.

We’ve been going here for 30+ years. Not sure what happened. In the last year, the meat quality went downhill, fish tastes like it was frozen for months. Hash browns used to be awesome but are now greasy and not as good. Oh, and if you order wine at a high end restaurant, they open it at your table so you can see that you are getting what you paid for… They don’t do this anymore. If you order wine here, definitely request that they open it at the table because I am very suspicious that I might not have gotten what I paid for last time. In any case, we come up to the lake in the summer and spend a ton of money eating out, and this place is now permanently off our list, which is too bad because we used to come here every weekend. Whatever kind of cost cutting is going on is going to put this place out of business and the owners need to step it back up. I’ve also heard the same sentiment from neighbors who have either lived here or been coming to this area for decades. Something is up with Stubs, and we’re all mad about it.

I have been to many high end steak houses. This place is a diamond in the rough for sure. Steaks and prime rib were excellent. Lionized potatoes were stellar. Service was just great. A definite gem

Amazing food!!! Steaks were cooked exactly how we wanted, walleye and shrimp were amazing, our waitress and all the other ones were so busy for a Monday night. Our first time here and we would highly recommend it.
