The staff are usually friendly. They make the sandwiches to order in the kitchen, so it’s slower than going to an assembly line sandwich shop. I try to be patient when ordering fresh food, but sometimes I wonder what’s taking so long here.
The place does have a slightly dated look to it and the coating material on the tables is a little sticky, but everything seems to be kept clean despite that, so the aesthetic is part of the charm to me.
If I lived closer, I’d surely be back!
Across the places I’ve traveled and utilized a delivery service (postmates, uber eats, store-provided) I’ve seen many have trouble with delivering liquids and/or oily items. Plus, whenever I’ve ordered a drink, I’ve had it left behind more often than I’ve received it.
Upon opening my lunch order from Dagwoods, I was very impressed. Every item was individually saran wrapped, including my drink which came in a great reusable “pickle” cup. Nothing spilled even with my drink inside the bag.
One thing to note is I ordered pasta salad as a side in Uber Eats & it printed on the restaurant’s ticket as potato salad. Probably just a technical glitch and not a huge issue for me, but someone else might be disappointed to receive potato vs pasta.
Overall enjoyed my Dagwood on a kaiser roll — it was nice to have something fresh for lunch while stuck at the hotel today!
I found it, in a new location, and it had the same spartan vibe as the old spot. When we walked it my daughter thought it was crazy this was the place I was always talking about.
So the good, the turkey was the same fresh baked, real turkey I remember.
The bad-well look at the picture. This was a $16 full sub. It measured about 6 inches long. I know-inflation, covid, tariffs, not your B-ton anymore- but for $16 in Indiana, this is ridiculous.
There is no way to reach out to management because I truly wanted to know if they are skimping or if the staff was so engrossed in there conversation they made the wrong size. Because I did ask if it was a full and they said “inflation.’
