Finally stopped in to order a caldo de res bowl after passing by this popular restaurant for many years. Food was piping hot on this rainy day with lots of veges and beef, side of rice and onions, and warm tortillas. Couldn’t have asked for a better plate in this weather. Also ran into a long time musician friend as an added plus. Will return soon.

Food was delicious! Pollo, Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Asada tacos (names of tacos are pronouns) were fantastic. If I had to rate one first place it would be the Carnitas, a very close second was the Al Pastor. The restaurant was busy and bustling, the staff were super friendly. 4 tacos, a 500ml Mexican coke with a large bottled water was about 17 bucks. Great prices. They do not accept cards, so make sure your ATM card is in working order. Mine is a bit old and it took me a few minutes to get it to work. Definitely want to go back here.

Good little join for Mexican food, the music, people even the smell of food. Almost make you feel at just like home, with the exception of fly infestation. The beef fajitas were amazing flour tortillas, refried beans ans Mexican rice just great. I couldn’t enjoy my meal, had three fly’s surrounding my plate. I had both arms waving constantly trying to keep them away, until they landed on my tortilla chips, plate and soda can. I want to enjoy my food not get frustrated with pest infestation. Great little join, it will not hurt to invest on ceiling fans instead of a health department violation code ( pest infestation ) very serious violation. Will not be coming back, good luck El Picoso restaurant

Small place but it is really good and it’s very affordable. I got a plate and a half liter bottle of coke for about $16. It is cash only but they have an ATM inside.

I placed my order of El Pastor fries and 4 carne asada tacos. Only 1 person was eating in the dinner another was waiting for his order. I asked the waitress if thy had jalapeño’s at the salsa bar. She said she would check but never came back. On the salsa bar were onions out side the shelf. I thought the waitress with long black braids was going to clean up the onions and throw them away but the only thing she did was pick them up and throw them back into the salsa. My tacos were super salty.

I have always love their food, specialy the machaca con huevo burrito buy today I had one after a few months. It was mostly rice and beans with very little meat and eggs. No flavor. They used to come with onion and jalapeños. Maybe they changed cooks…?.

When you come here, do it strictly for the food. The atmosphere can be rowdy. The service is fast but very unemotional somewhat cold. Again you come for the food. I placed a phone order and had my food within 7 minutes. That’s the protocol here. I’m on my way there call, get off the freeway Park and phone orders. You don’t need to get in line. You just go to the side of the register and let them know and they’ll take you right away

Pretty basic. Not bad, not memorable either. So many other places in the area with better tacos, not sure I would go back other than to try a few more dishes and make a final verdict. Here’s what we tried and the rating.
Asada burrito – 3 stars. Not much meat to speak of and tasted mostly rice and beans. The pieces of meat were small and chewy.
Carnitas burrito – 2 stars. Ditto on the comments for asada burrito. Carnitas was pretty shredded -!; I prefer chunks.
Tacos de buche and lengua – 4 stars. The buche and lengua were the stars of the meal. That and the salsas.
If I go back, it will be for these meats and maybe the menudo.
