I like Portillo’s, as the food from Chicago is my choice.
The big USA chains bring your consistent quality across the country and you know the menu wherever you go.
For this reason I went to Portillo today when I passed by.
After I got my order I realized that the sausage in the combo was missing and the fries were fairly cold and soggy.
When I went to the counter to complain the staff advised that they can get me the missing sausage shortly and I can build it in myself.
By then it would be even colder and now I got a do it myself sandwich.
Rather then discussing with the staff as they obviously don’t care about the customers food temperature and ikea system food to build myself I left the food on the counter and walked out.
20$ loss and the conclusion to abandon the Portillo location.
It’s all about service, the raw materials at Portillo are solid, the service is depending on managment.

I went next door for lunch, would NOT go back.

Went for the first time to any Portillo’s location. Got a double cheeseburger and onion rings and a soda, was a little over $20. Came out pretty quick. The burger was awesome and so were the onion rings. I will put the quality of the burger up there with Five Guys, possibly better, they are at the same price point. If you want a quality burger and sides, I say give it a try.

We drove down from Norman, OK to take our friend on her birthday because it is one of her favorite places. The food was outstanding. I got an Italian beef with grilled onions and mozzarella, dipped. It was heaven! The Chicago dog was terrific. The fries were fresh and salty. The staff were amazing! Worth the 2.5 hour drive. Would do it again. Highly recommended!

It was pretty good for my first time there. Ill try and refrain from making weiner jokes as its rather long, or meat jokes, dont think yall could take it.
Ok, now thats out of the way, I ordered the Italian beef sandwich, pretty tasty. If you don’t like spicy, find something else. Its not super spicy but just enough. Good balance.
Kiddos got a chicken sandwich, a plain hamburger and a hot dog with cheese, all with crinkle fries.
The hamburger was as plain gets, just meat and bun. Go figure he didn’t like it. Got a regular hot dog and he enjoyed that.
Chicken sandwich was really good juicy, fresh bun, lettuce was crunchy, tomatoes were not gooey.
Hot dog was also juicy and was “da bomb” with the cheese on it.
Last but not least was told by a coworker that we needed to try the chocolate cake shake. They weren’t wrong. These are REALLY tasty and thick. Full of flavor, not A typical watered down shake. They have different flavors but did not notice that till afterwards. All the more reason to try on the next visit.

Service was a little slow in the drive thru, but I honestly don’t know if it was the fault of the order taker or the orderer. (But there was only one car in front of me and I say there waiting for 15-20 minutes. So long that the workers inside came out to see what was going on – not that they came back to help, but yeah.)

The Italian beef sandwich, though, is one of my favorites – and I have chocolate cake for later.

$13 for a small bacon cheeseburger is absolutely outrageous. Everything is A la carte like it’s a steak restaurant. Come on!! The prices are very unreasonable. Have more combos….. Decided to go to Red Robin. We got a burger, endless fries and a drink for $9.99. Do better!!

Food was average, the cheese burger was delicious but the beef stake sandwich was awful. It soaked when I get home taste weird. Onion rings was so hard and dried. Spend 20.00 ( 1 cheese burger, sandwich and onion ring). I could go other place better than that. And there were only few customers and lots of employees but I had to wait long( I dont understand why).. they were talking, singing ..kind of dancing( i guess boring)…not recommended in addition, a man employee was sitting down on the floor next to restroom and watching cellphone! What a great atmosphere

Italian beef sandwich was loaded with beef and peppers. Sizable portions for both Fries and onion rings. Fish Sandwich was tender, and there wasn’t too much sauce to make it a mess.
Food was still hot by the time we arrived home.

This is a new place. The crew were very friendly and the food was good however they lack in communication. We came in late as a group and paid/ordered separately but several orders were not served due to miscommunication.
