We had an excellent lunch at 3rd Block Depot! Our waitress Katonya was fabulous. Her bubbly personality made our dining experience superb! We had the yummy Croque Madame & delicious Caesar salad. Our beignets were the best I ever ate. When I return to NOLA, I am definitely coming back at the 3rd Block Depot & asking for Katonya as my waitress.

place was super empty on mardi gras which was the first sign of trouble – that’s on me though. there’s a huge sign on the street advertising happy hour which is why we came in. we sit down (it’s SO empty), and ask the waitress if we can order for happy hour as we entered 1 minute after it started. she says yes. she does not give us happy hour menus making us feel like she didn’t want us to order off of it. we ask for happy hour items….she very slowly lists off just 2 things. there’s no way hh has only 2 items. (that are horrible deals which is fine. maybe this place is expensive?) however, looking at the regular menu a beer is $7-$10. she says hh beer is $9. weird if true. we also came here specifically for the char broiled oysters – she says they’re not doing them. why are they on the menu? so we have to divert and choose something we don’t really want. there’s a popcorn machine up front so while we wait for our food we get some – there’s no signage on it saying it’s not free. as we’re getting some, we’re scolded that it costs money but they say we can have it for free because we already took it. that’s nice i guess. the waitress comes back after a minute and says the glasses of wine for happy hour we ordered SPECIFICALLY are actually moot and they’re not doing happy hour whatsoever. so we’re now forced to order off the regular menu. point is, this place is clearly failing and for obvious reasons. they’re desperate for money, have horrible service, and LIE to get people through the door. hard pass next time.
edit: the gumbo was the worst i’ve ever had which is sad that it’s in nola. it was GRAY!

It was cute inside. It was our first time here. We were wondering around the streets looking for a place and came across this one. It wasn’t busy at the time. We had the short ribs, chicken pasta, and the seafood pasta. Everything was great. I got a drink and it was delicious. I ask for recommendations and the waiter did not disappoint.

This was our first time in New Orleans and this was the best food we have had on our trip. We got the short rib which was cooked perfectly, truffle fries, and mac n cheese. Our service was amazing and our server was so helpful and personable. The ambiance was a great bonus and we loved the decor. Very affordable as well. Would highly recommend!

Such a cool atmosphere – several great breakfast options – Crab Cake Benedict is amazing! Also had lunch and dinner during my stay – had a chef’s special Redfish Courtbouillon pictured here – wow! Also, Daphne made the best Sazerac I had in New Orleans – just perfect!

This was one of the best meals not only in the US but it challenges France for some of the best meals ever created. The chef provided three meals and all of them left you yearning to come back again and again. Their fruit was so fresh it made you wonder if they pick them right off the branch before they placed it on your plate. Their pastry’s melted in your mouth and their New Orleans staple beignets did not disappoint. The service was amazing, the staff were super sweet and the atmosphere was incredible and we were not rushed out like how you are in so many restaurants. My family and I could not have asked for a better breakfast this Easter weekend.

Really good food and service! The open air ambiance in an off the path place in New Orleans is top notch!

Food was amazing however our appetizer arrived 40 minutes after we ordered it and with our entree. I finished my dinner before the server ever came over and she didn’t seem to even notice all our food arrived at once. We finished our water and cocktails without her ever checking on us. She had maybe 5 tables going but gave all her attention to one and walked by ours several times. The atmosphere is so cool. All these bottles lit up. Definitely a cool vibe.

I’m back with an update! We are back again! This time someone from the group wanted to try the Braised Beef Short Ribs. I ordered the Ribeye this time and we both had the small Traditional Cajun Gumbo. The Gumbo was amazing. Just the right amount of spice, yet I’m not in distress, like I am with most spicy foods. The 14oz Ribeye was delicious. Friend said the Braised Beef is very tender and melts in your mouth! Mmmm. I would choose this place again and again!

The decor was the major component that caught my attention. It wasn’t busy at the time I arrived; however, it seemed to be a popular place since some clients who didn’t make reservations ended up leaving the restaurant. Then later on a group of 20+ came to have a good time.
There is quite a selection of food on the menu, I had several dishes, they were all quite strongly seasoned. The servers are very attentive to ensure I’m satisfied with my needs and very friendly. Even introduced me to the parade app and recommended areas of interest after knowing how long I’ll be in town for.
