Saw Gilbertos on TikTok and had to come try it out — they did NOT disappoint! The carne asada nachos were amazing; the meat was perfectly seasoned and super tender. We also tried the birria burrito and OMG… incredible! The green salsa was fire, and the micheladas were exactly the way I like them. I’ll definitely be back for more!

if you’re looking for the best birria tacos in the DFW come to Gilbertos!!! Super affordable such a good restaurant and you can’t beat the price!! They also have good breakfast burritos that will keep you full until lunch and then some! Give them a try 12/10 you will not regret it !!!

The service was awesome, walked in to place my order to dine in and my hot Cheetos burrito I ordered came out quick. Definitely try the churros. My churros were still hot while taking a good minute after devouring the burrito. For the drink I recommend Agua de Jamaica.

I just came through the drive through at 12pm CST 11/09/2025 and I ordered I country burrito with NO POTATO and extra cheese . The person taking my order re confirmed with me on the intercom system No POTATO country burrito with extra cheese . It took about 10 minutes to get my burrito and due to a burritos composition it’s a bit challenging to look on the inside without messing up the burritos structure. While still in the drive through, I slighty opened to see the burritos inside which was cheese that was unmelted and warm eggs. I let the burrito remain in the wrapping and foil to warm the cheese and began eating it once I got home. The first few bites were eggs and cheese but then the next few I noticed there were bits of potato. I figured this may have been by accident due to burritos maybe cooking on the same grill so I continued eating the burrito but then I began to only taste potato. (Please see picture for the crazy amount of potato in my burrito that I DID NOT ORDER)

Bathroom was clean, restaurant was clean, the lady who took our order jennifer was super helpful and super friendly while we were ordering and it being our first time there. The employees were constantly checking on us, making sure all of our food was good and tasty. They also provided us with any sauces and refills asap. We got the hot cheeto burrito, birria ramen, the hot cheeto balls, kids chicken nuggets, and quesabirria tacos and everything was a 10/10 i loved it. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.

I’d give it a 3.5 if possible, but not a 4. That being said, I’ll still probably come back again to give them another try & will update my rating if needed.
Service 4/5: The staff was really nice, pretty easy going. But it seemed that they forgot one of my friend’s food. Two of us had received our order, we still had her number on the table & then after awhile we were asked if there was anything else we were waiting on. It came out quickly afterwards. Maybe just a miscommunication amongst staff, but like I said. They were super nice.
Food 3/5: Kinda hit & miss. Breakfast burrito, super greasy but really bland. The hot sauce made it much better. Carne asada plate & tacos, delicious. Birria Ramen, this was also pretty bland… the noodle were great but it was missing some overall flavor. I do wish we could sub some sides, even for an uncharge. I would have rather had chips & cheese than fries, but it wasn’t allowed so I didn’t order a torta like I originally wanted. But the girl was super apologetic about it, rules are rules, I appreciate how nice she was about it. Prices are pretty good & the servings are huge.
Atmosphere 4/5: It’s chilly in there, which I like, definitely wear we need in Texas. Booths are spacious, good for groups & they have large tables put together as well. The restroom needs better plumbing, there was a warning about it so I hope it improves. Love the murals, chill atmosphere.
Maybe this place was overhyped but has potential, so I’ll be looking try another menu item next time. Maybe it was an odd day.
