I love Mexican food and this is some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was a little slow considering the place was practically empty. It was nice and clean but a 3rd of the place has really cool graffiti on the wall but the rest was pretty plain. But that doesn’t matter, because the food is what’s important.

I went on a girls trip to Orange County and stopped at Kalaveras. What a great experience! The drinks were incredibly well-made, and the bartender Franco was knowledgeable and fun to talk to. He made a perfect drink based on my liquor preference. I’m still thinking about it. Definitely recommend this place for a quality drink and top-notch service.

The chef is serious about quality and presentation. We were there for happy hour menu on a Friday night. The chicharron and carnitas tacos were sophisticated and delicious. The enchiladas were excellent. Seating is cushy and a decor is unique with black lighting on mural wall paintings. Service was top notch and prices were reasonable. A large bar and separate outdoor seating is available.

We’ve been twice for Taco Tuesday, one of the best lunch deals in Irvine. Taco bar is served in a street taco style and has a great assortment of fillings and toppings. Very personal service and genuine flavors. Highly recommend the Chicharrón with the green salsa.

Had a good time and dining experience at Kalaveras in Newport Beach. We had reservations for the evening and arrived a bit early and decided to sit at the bar. Daniel, the bartender, was superb in both customer service and his craft cocktail mixology. We started with ranch water with Don Julio Blanco with Topo Chico and three limes muddled with mint and the empanada appetizer. The ambiance was positive, and the background music complimented the ambiance. My wife ordered the chile Verde chicken enchilada plate, and I had the chicken fajitas. Both dishes were well presented, hot and tasty.
We also had a second round as Daniel mixed a great drink.
