5 star cuisine, 5 star service and 5 star views at VERY REASONABLE prices.The Highlands Bar Grille has created world-class Shrimp & Grits that rival the best found along the South Atlantic Coast; it’s truly wonderful. The Pan Seared Salmon with Bourbon glaze, cremini mushrooms and scrumptious mashed potatoes is beyond description. It’s our fave that my bride and I always split since the portion is so generous. The PAELLA MIXTA is also mind-blowing which includes Salmon, cod, sausage, shrimp, saffron rice, red bell peppers & peas. We opt for the pescatarian version and they gladly hold the sausage for us. Again, large enough to share for a $2 split fee. Service? Brittany & Sam are first class. Cocktails, beer and wine too are crafted with care by David and Roberto. All 5 stars.

I had a wonderful dining experience at The Highlands at Dove Mountain! The food was exceptional. Both the salmon and the halibut were AMAZING! I also enjoyed a delicious chicken and rice soup with oyster crackers, and the red sangria was the perfect touch. They started us off with some lovely bread, which I really appreciated. The views were absolutely stunning; I enjoyed how the sunset crawled across the valley and up the mountains. Watching the bunnies play and the golfers practice added a special charm to the evening as well. The dining experience was clean and comfortable, and for two people, walking out with a bill of about $100 felt like a great value for what we got. Our server, Gregory, was wonderful and made the experience even better. Five out of five stars!

I’m a little surprised by all of the great reviews. We just had breakfast and while it wasn’t truly terrible it wasn’t great either. Breakfast was exceptionally slow. Scrambled eggs tasted like the kind from a warmer in a free continental breakfast….English muffin was only toasted on one half…all in all – just not that good. The French toast was probably the best thing we ordered but for how long it took – you could do better elsewhere. I guess if you’re already there it’s fine. But unlikely to wow you.

I have been there twice. First time the service was subpar. I thought it might just be an off day or because we had a large table. Today I was back with a friend. Again…. beautiful location, decent drinks and food, but super slow service. Mentioned it to a few members who all agreed.
Well, if we all know it why isn’t the management addressing it? My friend went inside to find our server for a drink. 4 workers were standing around talking. That should never happen.

The food was very good but the service was lacking. We asked for our server 3 times and no one came. Had to ask for the manager before anything happened. Thankfully they gave us some free desserts for the trouble.

*Update after 2nd visit*
It took 45 minutes to bring out a black bean burger that was on a plate that had residue from something else that was on the plate and then removed. That’s the first thing that I noticed. The second thing that I noticed was that there was a small black bug crawling on the bun, I removed it and gave it a pass because we were sitting outside. I got a side salad and ate it first. As I was eating it I found another bug, this one was dead, in the salad. This place is truly terrible! The service and the food are both awful, and this is supposed to be a high-end country club type of establishment? Get out of here!
1st time here. Paella had no flavor. Service was not great, I was out of water for quite a while and had to bring my glass to the bar to get filled. I was with a party of 10 or 12 and we had reservations at 6pm. The food took a while and before you know it the restaurant is closing and they are clearly rushing us out. A couple of people in my party ordered dessert and it was brought to them in to go containers in plastic bags (and had ice cream in it) with no utensils. They did not ask for it to go. Pretty rude. We were not the only table still dining.

This place is walking distance to where we live and I wondered why we didn’t go often before. We’ve been back twice now in the last week and both experience were nice. Their food is definitely a lot better than the usual place we go to for drinks and food. Their wine list is a lot better. Have not tried their beer yet but will do next time we are there.

Very great place to go for any meal. Lunch is priced well. Enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the beautiful desert scenery. The staff was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is very relaxing.
