We went on Christmas Eve this year and they were understaffed for how busy they were but they did a great job. The food was perfect. No complaints at all. Patty melt was delicious and the hash browns were too. Getting seated and getting the orders wasn’t bad at all given how busy it was. Everybody else in our party agreed that it was great.

Went to Forest City Waffle House this morning ( around 2 / 230 a.m. ) Mainly, because it’s the only place in town open. Needless to say, huge disappointment. You would think since it wasn’t busy … The quality control would have been above average. Cook walked off, talking with a waitress & left the hashbrowns on so long, they were burnt. Both sets. One set wasn’t supposed to have onions, but had some in it. Glad his allergey isn’t deathly. Omelet had same burnt ham from hashbrowns… However, mushrooms were majorly undercooked. Waffle was thick & delicious.
Place was in disarray (dirty tables / counter etc ). Nasty looking waffle irons. Batter caked on the sides & around all the irons.
Waitress didn’t know how to call order correctly. Also, seemed like she was under the influence as well.
With all that being said…. Waffle House has always been known as an EXPERIENCE! & this morning, we did not get that AT ALL!
Very lackluster. I highly doubt we will return anytime soon. Driving to Spartanburg & Gaffney gets old!!! The atmosphere was just terrible. Didn’t feel welcoming like previous years of visiting.
Get back to the old vibe, that’s why it’s a ghost town in there a lot of the time.

I was very surprised when I saw the low rating for this Waffle House. The wait time wasn’t too bad and the service was amazing. We ordered our food and it was out in good time and tasted amazing. Honestly it’s good comfort food for the belly. The staff were all very friendly, efficient and cordial. We will continue to visit this location. Hayley.

I’m a huge Waffle House fan. I love WH. But this was the most oddly negative dining experience I’ve ever had.
At 5:30PM on Dec 5th 2025, my friend and I dined at Waffle House 1549. We were greeted and had our order taken by the waitress. The waitress was very nice to us, as we were to her.
I ordered the All-Star special with a waffle, two eggs over easy, toast, grits, and bacon. My friend ordered two waffles and a side of plain hash browns.
Our food was brought out all together, with my friend receiving her 2 waffles. My order was brought out, minus my waffle. When our waitress walks by again, I tell her that I’m missing my waffle. She looks at me, surprised, which confused me since she just took my order a few minutes ago and at this time there were no other customers in the restaurant. The cook seemed upset, saying that he only heard about my friend’s waffles. But our waitress does get me my waffle and I thank her.
My friend and I talk for about 45 minutes while we eat. I really love Waffle House waffles and usually get two when I eat there. I decide that I’d like to add another waffle. Our waitress stops and asks us if we need refills on our drinks. I tell her that I’d like a refill on a waffle. She laughs, because it was funny. I laugh with her and say “Yeah, haha, I need another waffle!”
She walks away and I’m thinking she’s going to put in my order. She doesn’t. She starts doing some side work and I look at my friend and ask if she sees what I’m seeing. My friend is shocked.
I give our waitress the benefit of the doubt and wait a few minutes. Maybe she did think I was joking. That’s okay, I’ll be clearer. When she walks past a few minutes later, I get her attention and say politely “Hey, I know I sounded like I was joking earlier, but I was serious – I would like to order another waffle!”
I kid you not, she looks at me and laughs AGAIN, saying I need to stop with the waffles. I had 1 waffle. The cook joins in, saying I can have 2 before they cut me off or something like that. I’m looking around absolutely dumbfounded and asked aloud, as I am then ignored by all staff, “Am I really having to fight to get a waffle right now?”
Maybe this location likes to heckle customers for trying to order food? I don’t know what their deal was but I left feeling weird and the most disrespected I’ve ever felt at a restaurant in my life.

Personnel changes, have made it a great place to come to. Yet there still needs to be work done on it. May 2024 night of bad weather I and others stayed a long time did not have to go out in the weather. Unlike another time when senior citizens were were put out in bad weather at night.
What I’ve noticed is a lot of high school people come in when it’s raining LOL. I rarely see families come in here it’s mostly high school students and couples peppered with single men and women. The food of course is fantastic, get the gravy on bread I highly recommend it.
It is in an open area yet I recommend parking close to the front of the restaurant due to people lurking about in the mall behind it at night.
If you come in the morning you may have to wait there’s simply not that much seating. They have the usual favorites orange juice milk eggs bacon sausage biscuits grits etc and coffee coffee is fantastic so are the eggs etc.

The staff was beyond incredible during my visit. I brought my parents out to eat, and they both have a hard time moving around. My Mom has always loved the Waffle House and she wanted to go to one. The staff helped with getting them in and out, and made my parents very happy with the visit. The food was prepared excellent. Our waiter was one of the nicest young men I have ever had at a Waffle House, and was very charming.
