i went after eating some tacos and the ube ice cream is so delicious and the sweet rice with jack fruit/mango is sooooo gooodd. a sweet cashier and greeter assisted me. i may have aten like 1000 cal but it was worth it. going to try their food next time!! wow!! yum!!

I rated this a 4 solely due to this was my first time eating here. I usually eat the same old boaring meals. Today I tried something new. I’m glade I did. This meal we ate on was a twist of sourness if you get my drift. Just right I’d say! Two meals were served upon our stay. The service was definitely prompt and professional. The surrounding was nice and settle. We went around dinner time 4ish before 5. We were the only ones there at the time. There was numerous pick ups.

Heartfelt, Warm, Home Experience. Eating here have me the amazing feeling of visiting a favorite Grandma or Aunt and having them serve you a plate of your favorite dish. Food was delicious with plenty to for all.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 – very different ratings on the dishes. We got both at spiciness level 3 but it was odd that the spiciness comes from chili pepper flakes (more like pizza topping than Asian spices).
1/5 – Pad Thai with Pork was overly sweet and the protein extremely dry. The noodles were really stuck together even while it was still hot. Couldn’t finish this dish based on texture and flavor
5/5 – Pineapple fried rice with beef has great flavors with sweetness from the pineapple and saltiness and earthiness from the seasoning.
Ambience: N/A – got food to go. Some nice paintings and Asian decor
Service: 5/5 – cashier was really nice and allowed us to sit indoors while waiting for the food
Value for price: 3/5 – dependent on dish. Would definitely recommend the fried rice which tastes great and can almost feed two people

My husband and I love the foods here. We have Papaya Salad (Somtum Thai), Satay chicken and the Pad Chicken with Thai basil leaves (Pad Krapraw Chicken) with rice; they are delicious. If you like good foods, great services and value for money, I recommend to come here at Thai Star restaurant. There is only Thai Star this restaurant in Merced, CA.

Food is good. The manager is also very welcoming and friendly. Usually we have to order fish and fried rice. We can’t eat the meat because we eat halal foods (and their meat is the regular one). I would be happy to change my rating to 5 stars, if they are able to arrange Halal meats in future days. I hope the manager will take care of managing halal foods as well (similar like ‘Masala Express’, ‘Kabob express’, ‘Turmeric’ etc restaurants). Then we and our friends can come more frequently to eat halal thai foods as well.

Always a wonderful experience – great customer service and some of the best Thai food in town. I had the butternut squash, spinach, chicken and sliced almond salad – absolutely delicious!! Of course, washed it down with a Thai iced coffee.

I always enjoy coming here because they don’t give you any grief over eating, chatting, and taking your time. They are very friendly and when you order vegetarian options, they’ll even check if you’re vegan. Recommend as a solo diner or with a group of friends.
