I am glad to know of this place. I had a pu’erh tea on the patio. It came in a huge bowl and was a bit strong from me but the experience was so lovely I hardly minded.

A lovely experience. We had the rose tea, black pepper cashews, and plantain chips. It was also fun to play a board game while we enjoyed our tech free outing (minus using my phone to grab a quick picture for memories sake).
Thank you to all the great staff who work here. My friend also bought a fun tea set for their house.

To gain my respect so fast is a feat in itself. A TeaHouse straight out of dreamland. 5 stars and impressed forsure. I’ll add pictures of the location soon enough to make it easy for anybody traveling through here to find the spot.

One of the many Santa Cruz Staples

The Hidden Peak Tea house is best tea house not only in Santa Cruz but in the whole California.
The feng shui feel , the layout of the space , quality of the selection is exceptional. When you go there you forget what is time . It is timeless experience no phones , no electronics , it is a bliss for beautiful conversations , writing , contemplation connection to owner and his amazing stories we share with and others who visit. For me personally being there is meditative bliss with authentic way to enjoy Traditional tea in good atmosphere with good tea and people around me. At The tea house we implemented classical feng shui principles I hope you can feel the energy flow. Thank you .

If you are visiting Santa Cruz Hidden Peak TeaHouse is the must to go place. The best traditional teas, the atmosphere, ambiance, NO Electronics to be used . Having owners David sharing his wast knowledge about tea is the bonus. Always welcoming staff and very calm atmosphere. Great place to have group gatherings, friends together to have conversations or if you need place and time to reflect and contemplate is perfect !
There are outstanding collection of fine teas to try and learn how to serve.
I wish there would be such place in every city!

This tea house is a nice oasis of calm. They don’t allow phones to be on inside, but they have lots of games and books to stay busy with. The owner is also extremely knowledgable on tea and able to recommend some delicious puer teas

If cultural appropriation were a physical place- it would be this place. Prior review was spot on about unnecessary robe wearing and cult vibes. The tea is nice.

What a real gem! On a weekend trip up the coast Santa Cruz was on the list! Never having visited this ol school city l had to research effectively to make my stops count! Hidden Peak Tea above artisan coffee houses and other tea places was my top pick!

I was SPOT ON!!! A true tea haven! Transported into the tea world in such nice way! Selections with wide range, Oolongs to Pu-erh and Green to White Teas the options are very nice! Premium for sure and the treatment of the leaves is Top Priority!!!

My family including parents and cousins all new to the tea game loved it!! If you seek tea, here you will most definitely find it!!!

There is a rule of no cell phones, but l had to at least show you all the beauty of whats in store if you visit!!

Great tea and even better service. I accidentally left some books behind and they were able to send them back to me. They really go above and beyond for their customers. I will be back here on my next trip to Santa Cruz. I highly recommend the rose tea it’s delicious.

very pleasant place to hang out for a couple hours. would come back if I were in the area.
beautifully decorated space and interesting options on the bookshelf, both curated in the standard eclectic pan-Asian hippie spirituality style you’d expect. gongfu service was on a nice wooden tea tray with a fun fish monster (?) tea pet. I know they’re traditional but I think the ~20mL gongfu teacups are not ideal for an American clientele (imo 50-100mL range is more comfortable for ppl).
the pu’er our server recommended was pretty solid. pricing is on the higher side, but also kind of unnecessarily complicated in a way that feels slightly underhanded. tea menu options were somewhat limited, and could have benefitted from some description/tasting notes.
they really enforce the no electronics thing also, but tbh planning to not look at your phone for a few hours and having someone keep you accountable to it is itself maybe worth the upcharge on the leaf and water.
