I’ve given this Chanello’s (Henrico – S. Laburnum Ave) more than a fair chance over the 3 years I’ve lived on the East End, and at this point I’m done .
On Sept. 14, I ordered two pizzas (Meat Lovers and Chicken Supreme w/ feta). One came out wrong, the remake came out raw with toppings sliding off. I literally had to recook it, and it bottom dough was still raw. I just ate some top crust with toppings .Photos and video to prove it.
Truth is, this location misses way more than it hits. Every time I “try again,” I end up second-guessing myself, and this time proved why.
And honestly, it’s not just Chanello’s. Most spots out here, chain or mom & pop; are lackluster at best. East End restaurants overall leave a lot to be desired. As a real foodie, I can say the whole area’s food scene just plain sucks.
This was the last straw for me. Not ordering here again.

Excellent experience at Chanellos Laburnum this morning! Arrived just before close, and Chef Shawna and CheesecakeJ were super helpful and ecstatic to complete our order. My favorite late night stop for grabbing pizza after work. Big shoutout.

We had to do a last minute Christmas Eve dinner and called to make sure they were open. They were open and told us the best deals they had. We ordered it and had it in 15-20 minutes(the time it took us to drive from New Kent). The staff were very nice, especially the lady!!! I wish I knew all three I saw names to give them kudos. This isn’t our only great experience here and we prefer to skip pizza places in New Kent for y’all!

Philly Pizza is a guilty pleasure of mine but the only nation-wide copy available is through Domino’s.
This one blew it out of the water! The white sauce base had some complexity, so each bite wasn’t overwhelmingly cheesy, steak was abundant, red onions not white, very nice, a very well thought out pie!
Waffle fries hit the spot, not overdone and too crisp, still some soft fries under the top layer. Fairly sized for 2 people but no more.
Only negative review I saw seemed upset about a floppy slice, but it looks like the only thing they didn’t order on the pie was the kitchen sink.
Dough was perfectly bouncy but not bland, I haven’t eaten crust in quite a while but I bit my fingers finishing my slices.
Thanks guys, you were right, nothin’ beatza pizza.

I am doing this review because of my wonderful experiences every time I walk into chanellos on laburnum Ave. Kshawna the night manager always wears a smile and is so nice regardless how busy the store is. She doesn’t rush her customers which I really appreciate and she has a lovely attitude every single time I come into the store for my take out. Thank you Kshawna for being so pleasant

Went in and turned around after I saw employees answering the phone; touching the register screen, taking to go orders outside, and getting a not so clean space heater from the back and plugging it up and never changing their gloves not one time!!! Completely grossed me out….my family and I left up outta there!!!

Work for a hotel down the street and am ordering at least once a week!!! I love that they are open longer than any other pizza place in the area, the food is always great, and I never have a problem with the wait times!!

We try to hope we get a better pizza each time from here. Want a local franchise to survive. Pizza wasn’t even 90d by the time it got here. And bread sticks were even worse. Took forever. Almost 1.5 hours. They are 4 miles away. Does this look like a $21 pizza?

I ordered two meals; food was cold and cheese fries were cut into half waffle shape, half cooked with skin on and can taste the grittiness. Hot buffalo chicken was cold and regular fries were cold as well. Only thing that tasted good were the bacon bits and cheese from the cheese fries. Paid the driver $40 and gotten $10 out of it. Terrible, do better with the food next time. Will not order again!!!
