UPDATE: We recently found out they have the option to make the sticky rice crispy! Definitely a MUST try if you like a more toasty flavor & crispy texture.

This place has the BEST chicken rice. The chicken is grilled to juicy perfection. I always get it with STICKY rice and it’s the ultimate combination! This is the only restaurant I have been to that has sticky rice as an option. Their mung bean drink is also tasty. The owner is super nice and gives us free soup refills. Definitely worth coming here!!!

I usually get to go order. Do not have much dine in experience. This’s the only place i go for the Steam chicken anytime i come back SJ

We got :

– Half chicken 5/5 : Chicken’s really good very tender. Go well with fine blended green onion ginger sauce and some other sauce.

– Chicken Giblets 10/5: the best best best ever. As i compare to one of my other fav shop in elk grove city. Giblets is all mixed, well cleaned – prepared. You won’t get any bad smells. All very soft easy to chew.

– small side of mix salad 5/5: some cabbage, Vietnamese mint leaves, reg mint.

The price may seem a little bit more than the other place. But you get what you pay for. Very good quality food. Also we all know San Jose is known for expensive high tax spending. So be ready for small chicken portion with around 15 bucks .

The owner’s friendly and helpful. Easy to order thru phone. Very clean with locked restrooms. A plus is big private parking lot. It helps a lot for searching for parking in this busy area.

10/10, perfect score across the board. I had the best pho ga I have ever eaten in my ENTIRE life here. They gave a very generous portion of skin on chicken, and it also came with a citrus dipping sauce. The broth was very mild in flavor and could be adjusted as needed. The staff were also super nice and attentive. I will definitely be back.

More like 4.5 starts out of 5. A friend of mine tagged this restaurant in an IG story and the food looked delicious. We stopped midday on a Saturday, we were greeted right away and picked our table. We ordered the #3 Lemongrass Chicken with Chicken rice. It came out fairly quickly with a soup broth and basil, onion, tomatoes and cucumber on the side. The lemongrass chicken was absolutely amazing. It was tender and juicy and cooked perfectly. The dipping sauce with spicy peppers was a great addition. I thought it was a very generous serving of chicken and rice. Service was friendly/ fast and I think their prices are reasonable. We will definitely visit again!

Starving and craving some “Goi Ga” (chicken salad) and “Chau Ga” (chicken porridge).
‘Com Ga Nam An’ was the perfect restaurant to visit to satisfy my hunger. Chicken was steamed and presented beautifully and tasted delicious.
The porridge was an excellent choice on a cold November night.

Came here for the Hainan chicken rice but found that lemongrass grilled chicken is surprisingly good! Quantity is impressive. Very Juicy. Taste is great. I also like the sticky rice option.
The owner is very polite and there is always plenty of parking slots in their own lot.

The Miến Gà is not good: only a few pieces of chicken, and its soup tastes like hot water with salt, no flavor at all. I do not recommend this dish, it isn’t worth $18.

This is a place for locals. They need some better service and to clean up the site a bit. The exterior is so beat down you’d think it’s closed. The food was actually good but overpriced for what you get. Host / owner wasn’t very friendly but wasn’t rude either. Didn’t seem happy to have a new customer.

He recommended the grilled chicken, rice and soup. The dark sauce was very tasty. The soup was flavorless. The mini salad didn’t look very good quality so I didn’t even bother. Tea was very good. Jasmine green tea. Overall I would not come back here for any reason.

Time to be acknowledged 5/5
Time to get food 5/5
Return value 0/5
Quality 3/5
Customer Service 1/5

If you like tasty food with flavors exploding in your tastebuds, now this is the place to go to. Com Ga Nam An SJ is a local hidden gem. I was recommended to try the lemongrass chicken here… and the flavor makes me want to move in here and call them family. The place is not fancy, but the service is on point and music in the background very relaxing. After a stressful day, stop by here and you will feel better. 10/10!

This was literally the best pho ga that I’ve ever eaten in my life aside from what my dad and my mom make. From the moment I sat down and ordered. I was greeted with so much hospitality. I ordered number 16, which is the pho ga and goi ga. it came out so quickly it was delicious and flavorful, but felt light and didn’t taste like it had any MSG. I would eat here again. The owner was so sweet and made me a to go cup of tea.
