I am not a vegan but, I had to give this spot a try.
Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, heavy on the pickle and a side of fries.
Let me tell you, I genuinely thought I had a real chicken sandwich. It was absolutely delicious! The fries were the best I’ve ever had in this city, and that’s truly saying something because fries are my all time favorite snack/comfort food.
Dwayne provided excellent service and great conversation while I enjoyed my lunch. His sauce recommendation was on point.
Definitely coming back again soon for some fries and spicy ranch. Can’t wait to try another one of their vegan sandwiches.

Great food with awesome flavors and quality ingredients. This location is all vegetarian so some of the dishes at the original aren’t available or changed but everything is still tasty and fresh. The poutine remains a must try and a great dish. There is limited indoor seating but on nice days seating outside in the courtyard is the way to go. A great place for lunch or a quick bite.

Food was burned. I ordered the Somerville Dip. Dip is in the name and they forgot to add the dip. I had to ask for it. French fries were way too salty and were small “leftover pieces”. Overall Food was bad…won’t be back.

Now Market is adorable and my friend who is local recommended we stop at Saus. Primarily vegan friendly offerings.

So, the chicken sandwich is definitely tasty, the fries are just right, but the star of our visit there was the French dip, which was bursting with flavor.

It was so good, we ordered a second one. My husband, who eats an omnivorous diet said it was better than any meat French dip he’s had.

It’s on a crisped roll and the tender veggie meat is slightly charred, adding to the texture, flavor and bite.

This place you have to try all vegan and the staff are just amazing! The sauces 10/10 the food 10/10 the people making it for you 10/10. They were so busy this day they sold out their fries. Will definitely be back!

“Saus is a fantastic gateway into meat-alternatives by putting their meat-free spin on classic fast food dishes.
Food: I think the most successful part of the foods we tried was the overall taste. The flavors were great, but I think a general hurdle meat alternatives have is texture. Once you’re approaching your last tasty bites, the texture and moisture difference from the full-meat alternatives become more apparent.
Service: The staff was very friendly and gave a great drink recommendation for my chicken sandwich.
Atmosphere: I think Bow Market is the perfect atmosphere and setting for Saus. The lively energy and great variety of stores in the space make visitors more open to trying new foods, leading them to try Saus!”

Stopped by on a late Monday afternoon, when most places in the area aren’t open. Nice folks and interesting menu. Seems this location is the only one fully vegetarian. Had their Spicy “Chicken” Sandwich and fries. As a non-vegan, the sandwich was pretty good. Fries had a bit too much salt but were fresh and tasty. I liked the outdoor seating in Bow Market, with a lot of other places to check out and explore. Also had a Dorchester Festbier Lager and Down East Cider Donut to wash it down. Wish the cups were a bit larger .

I do not agree with automatically putting a 20% tip on to take out orders and you have to notice it if you want to change, it I think it’s sneaky. I think it’s bad business. Big turn off for deciding if I want to be a repeat customer in the future.

We were hungry while visiting Bow Market and Saus caught out eye. We got a large poutine with kimchi topping and the Sommerville Dip. They came out in about 15ish minutes. Both were great! The Sommerville Dip was a bit too salty for my taste – the sandwich and dip were both salty by themselves so the combination can be too salty for some.

This next part is more of a general comment for Bow Market but it was very hard for us to find seats as there were lots of visitors to the market that weekend. I also don’t recall any seating inside Saus itself (or any of the other eateries).

Best vegetarian poutine I’ve ever had (including the vegetarian poutines I’ve had in Canada). The mushroom gravy is really savory and flavorful. Perfect amount of cheese curds. I ordered the “big” size and it was excellent as a dinner portion. I added the crispy scallions as a topping which was worth it. I loved the bit of crunch it added. I normally prefer my fries a little thicker but this was still delicious. My husband had a veggie burger and was really happy with it. He liked the coleslaw on it. They also have a few draft beer options and sell canned beers too. Good spot for vegetarian food but also reccomend it to anyone who is around and looking for a snack to go. Their meat substitutes are very thoughtfully flavored and would satisfy any appetite.
